iirc EF’s radar is based on the blue vixen radar or atleast least was
Captor-M is mechanical radar on early vehicles. Very early vehicles had worse engines.
So you’re telling me there’s a chance
You’re talking about development (DA) Typhoons, which in order to keep to the testing schedule, were fitted with RB199s as opposed to EJ200s, which produced a lot less power. Iirc Production Models all had EJ200 from the get go
Will the Leopard 2A4M have the DM43 shell?
Yes. Late versions with aesa are too OP, only planes like f-22/su-35/felon will be able to cope with the.
Depends whether Gaijin consider the DA Typhoons valid additions. They’ve rejected the EAP iirc because it was never intended to mount weapons, and iirc the vast majority of DA typhoons didn’t either. Only ones that did iirc were DA.7 and 8.
Yes which is mechanical
CAPTOR-M is the best mechanical radar out there
they had PD radars at first im pretty sure, and Mk104M engines which are a decent bit less powerful then the actual engines so would be pretty balanced if that isnt enough limit it to 8 missiles and no BOL pods
DA2 did so the british are good :3
Bearing in mind we know the square root of bugger all about the AESA radars (the RAF at least hadn’t started fitting them until at least after 2022) I’d be very surprised if we saw them for a long time… apart from anything else, I’d assume they’d go for an Tranche 1 variant to start with, and progressively add more variants with better capabilities. Which would point towards an AESA radar coming further down the line, if at all.
Production variants will dominate current air rb because of their flight performance.
iirc the DA.7 was the Weapons specific, so that’d be Italy sorted. Only one would be Germany, which I don’t know about.
But would it be “add it right now” balanced?
As you’re saying the radar, even if it’s regular ol’ PD mechanical, is still best in class.
And then there’s the airframe and avionics etc
we could get the Tornado F3 WSU which has an ERC90 Radar, MAWs and the EJ200 engines, will it be meta? no but will be on hell of a BVR machine
again limit weapons, no BOL rails so limited countermeasures and its flight performance would be a decent bit worse I would argue its probably a little better then the Gripen but the F15C and Su27SM will most likely keep up pretty well
Probably all Air RB, at least as far as close combat is concerned. The Stealths don’t and won’t have the manouevrability to keep with a Typhoon, because irl they never needed to. Don’t need to evade from something that doesn’t know you’re there.
All of this makes the broad straightforward assumption that Multipathing stays as the hard counter to Radar guided weapons.
Almost certainly not. think Gripen but even more bonkers is what i’ve heard.
simply fly lower
we have no idea how it will perform gaijin will pull some fuckery and it will be meh
The DA Typhoons would basically be more manoeuverable Su-27SMs with worse IR missiles. They aren’t as powerful as many make them out to be.
