You’d be surprised.
Supposedly, AMRAAM-As had some issues that made them function worse than later Sparrows (not sure how true this is), so I could see it.
No, I really wouldn’t. All the AMRAAM has to be is a 7M that guides itself so that you can notch early or go cold and it will become extremely meta. It’s also a fire and forget missile so you can fire off 6 then do a 180 with almost no counterplay to non-amraam carriers
Possibly
Idk at this point
The “British” Alpha Jet is only operated by UK based PMC’s and was never operated by the RAF
The 180 isolates the aircraft from its team though. Counter play is stay low and no radar missile will hit you. Then the close up fighting has one aircraft less on their team and by the time it rearmed it’s all alone.
If multiple aircraft do this then the entire team splits up. Seen it with F-14’s plenty of times.
Not saying it’s a bad tactic but it’s not like there are no counter plays or this is a META.
On that note, may I inquire what happened to the spall liners for the Ariete tanks that were already confirmed in December? Are they coming in the major update?
Yup, this is an accurate take of why ARHs aren’t going to really be a big deal unless they change multipathing and skimming the ground no longer works.
Ah so thats called multipathing?
Any idea how realistic that is in WT?
I’ve read mixed things, between the effect being exaggerated and it being accurate (and a non-issue IRL because nobody is skimming the ground at Mach and above).
news on the list, the hidden one may be a boat
Hidden boat…submarine? 🤣
Interesting, I wonder if maybe they should.
80 million dollar aircraft vs powerline is a big consideration, or birdstrikes etc, but in an all out war they might try it if irl multipathing is as strong as in WT.
It’s too early to confirm what the contents of the major update will be at this time with regards to fixes and other improvements.
All Chinese 3rd gen MBTs, Leclercs and Abrams tanks have been confirmed to use spall liners as well.
To be honest, I have no idea how it’s taking so long to fix such enormous issues after they’ve been confirmed and acknowledged, but I hope they are all addressed, at most, by the time the next major update drops.
To be fair, i find it quite funny that it took devs something like 10 days for adding spall liners on CR2’s Leopards & Company, some LT, but its taking them almost 90 days to add them on the Ariete or ZTZ’s. Feel like if they have to take this much they shouldn’t have added them to Leopards and other and wait, then add it to every vehicle at the same time, so we wouldn’t get what happened this patch.
Spoiler
Precisely. Spall liners are a HUGE deal in terms of survivability. Maybe as important, if not more, than armor thickness itself.
I have no idea how we got like 18 MBTs ingame without spall liners when they’ve been literally acknowledged and confirmed to have them in real life.
I mean, they can’t be too hard to model, right? As you said it took them just a couple of days to implement some of them…
Dunno. Probably it was easier to add full spall liner coverage to the STRV122’s than adding some portions of spall liner on the Ariete turret, right?
Speaking of missing portions, the Challenger 2-3s are confirmed to be missing spall liners on the LFPs as well, which would greatly impact their survivability.
IRRC they has 2 types of turret with 2 types of autoloader.
The orginal is currently in game.
The other is the same with BMD-4/4M but with worse armor and a CITV/Better optic for the commander, it’s a sidegrade that we need.
