Honestly I think that simplification is better because it makes the balancing easier. That being said I still thing they should differ multipath altitude between missiles.

to be fair, that one most likely is wrong, else their would be no reason for UK to switch to german L/55A1 cannons
its using another formula for what i could read not the Lanz-Odermart formula

We cannot audit that user’s source, so… L27A1’s 650mm of pen at 100 meters remains entirely plausible from the sources I’ve seen.
M829A2’s 700mm pen in-game is what proved Odermatt to me
That never had anything to do with performance, but inter-operability with NATO. The Smoothbore means we can share rounds
iirc the advantage of L/55A1 is that it can take a good amount more pressure in the shell compared to the older cannons

3rd gen fighter 90’s, Shenyang J-8F and subsonic with active radar MRAAM could be 12.3 ~ 12.7 except AV-8B+ (2023) would be 13.0
4th gen fighter 90’s ~ 2002 with active radar BVRAAM to be 12.7 BR except F/A-18C (USN/USMC) from 90’s and Legacy Hornet export for USA allies higher 12.7
J-8F with two AIM-120C-5 level of missiles at 12.3 but AV-8B+ with four AIM-120B at 13.0? It doesn’t make sense
What do you think about the small difference in performance between L/44 and L/55 in the game?
I ask you from my ignorance, I am not being ironic. It just seems like there’s too little difference. Is it a nerf and can we expect changes in the performance of the L/55 in the future?

That’s a 5% improvement for 25% more length.
Not really small for penetration.
In comparison: DTC10-125- 664mm & 678mm
2.1% more penetration for 12.5% more length.
Seemingly standard improvements.

I hope PL-8 replace with PL-8B, 2x PL-5E or PL-5E II stock instead PL-5B and add PL-12 for J-8F but to be 12.3 or 12.7 ?
