Explain more on that? Stronger seeker for what reason?
I’ll use an emoji to sum it up:
😭
Yeah with the new engine that should provide more BVR capability compared to now. PL-15 will only ensure there’s still future growth in the BVR aspect.
Yes, it is a fact, but the same Eurofighter will accelerate AIM-120Cs to incredible speeds, the J-10 will not be able to accelerate the missile that much.
Then what will be needed to make it equal in BVR to compensate for J-10C’s lack of climb and acceleration, PL-15?
and PL-12 is arguably better than a C5, even when fired under optimal conditions by an EFT.
PL-12A could potentially bridge that gap, especially if they continue to ignore C5 bug reports
The PL-15 is in a whole different league. I’m talking about the fact that the J-10 will now fly on par with the current top-tier aircraft.
Against a direct target, maybe yes, but against a maneuvering target at a launch distance of 30+ km, the AIM-120 maintains speed much better.
Perhaps, though its also easy to defeat at those kinds of ranges, which is why the beamwidth report really needs to be fixed
I just want a Scorpion/Scorpion 90 (/derivatives)
Though saying that, I’m taking a break atm. The game has gotten stale lately :/
PL-12A will have increased weight and increased weight = higher energy retention, so it won’t bleed speed as much against maneuvering targets
It’s just that everyone here talks about range, ignoring the fact that the target will maneuver, and then the missiles behave completely differently than when fired at a straight-flying target. Today’s players are very different from those who existed when ARH missiles were introduced.
Unlikely to happen it’s SARH and would be made worthless by how the current CAS playstyle is handled by flying low
I agree, Range is one of the least important attributes for ARH misisles currently and its the only meaningful advantage Aim-120C5s has over ANY ARH missiles in-game at the moment, with that eliminated, it might actually be the weakest
More so because gaijin thinks ground based SARH’s are scary since they faked 9M317MA just for Buk-M3…
There are many other factors that can affect its speed, but yes, it will conserve more energy. The most important factor is the missile’s seeker; if it’s the same as the MICA, that’s a problem. Otherwise, the missile will still be easily deflected by the notch.
I’m also saying it’s Finnish so never gonna happen regardless but still it would basically be worthless
Yes, at a distance of 20 km this is the worst rocket.
No idea but there should probably be a noticable improvement
Well, again, we are now guessing on the coffee grounds. And we don’t know exactly how the new missiles will be configured, since the developers have their own vision and mathematics. So we wait.
