Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Disagree. The Chinese community cried their eyes out for PL-12A and new engines so they’re getting it. Feedback does work sometimes, it’s not a complete lost cause.

(No one please misconstrue that I’m against J-10C getting new engines or PL-12A, that’s not what I said at all).

The thing is, the mechanics are usually poorly implemented or buggy and the fixes are often not the most important, or somehow bugged themselves. At the end of the day the only good thing we get is something that looks good in our hangars

Honestly I was more expecting ECM/EW for June given how much it could change air battles and the June update is one of the bigger updates in terms of content and new features. Although SEAD and ARM would be big changes in reality they are pretty limited since they are meant for big SPAA.

Also with the F-16C PoBIT potentially coming it could be a good aircraft to introduce it with.

But so long as they implement it right I prefer them to take their time with it and not just rush it out.

And sometimes we can’t even enjoy that because the 3D model is wrong/bugged and it’s gnawing at us :P

Wouldn’t it be better from an incremental standpoint to do SEAD/ARM first then see how ECM/EW would impact things?

Because if ECM/EW comes first then SPAAs are also affected, and then they’d have to deal with the double whammy of SEAD/ARM on top of dealing with ECM from aircraft.

The emphasis here is on national balance (I know there’s practically none). Chinese aviation has long suffered (even more than Germany), and the J-10C for these missiles still raises questions. Of course, it will add 1-2 tons of thrust and a 5-10 km launch range (bringing it up to the AIM-120), but will this make a significant difference? — No.

UPD: Because the Rafale, EFT, and Su-30 will continue to beat up everything alive, whether you’re in an F-22 or an Su-57 (the latter is a little luckier, he has DIRCM).

Interestingly it does appear that the PL-12A will be the best missile in the game compared to current existing missiles. It already out-pulls AIM-120s but estimates show it may out-accelerate and out-range even the AIM-120C.

Every head must bow, every tongue must confess, and a billion chinese must cry. /s

Yeah and honestly make sense too given how the US would already have two rank IX jets

Would still be a 50/50 for me personally.

I have 9 of the 10 ground trees in game up to 12.7 and pretty much all the ground vehicles I’m actually interested in ready or within reach. So even though I want to see as many fixes/features as humanly possible each update, I’m also dependent of new vehicle additions to keep me excited on the ground side.

hopefully they buff 120C and by extension D. C-7 added further HOBS upgrades and that should carry over to the D right?

I watched the video, and there’s one BUT. The rocket launches occur at the same speed, but let’s remember who uses the 120C and who uses the PL-12A. Then the difference will even out.

Problem is what does HOBS mean? Removed gimbal limit launches? Increased fins movement? Decreased guidance delay?

I think a potential PoBIT would need ECM/EW to not be the worst 14.7 by far.

Then again, if the PoBIT gets ECM/EW I assume other top tier aircraft would also get, meaning that it’s still easily the worst 14.7 by far.

I also have a feeling it might be added with a stronger seeker, not cause they’d be able to report it, but basically for the same reason you stated before.

The J-10C still retaining WVR advantages while having its BVR disadvantage removed is a big upgrade though.

Ontop of also being able to launch faster and reach higher alts more effecienctly than it can currently
