Where did this whole Brimstone on the Apache discussion even come from?

They leaked the AH-64E, Brimstone II’s were tested on an AH-64E

basically US AH-64E is being added and got onto the conversation of them copy pasting a british AH-64E with brimstone 1s instead of JAGM and ldircm
It is the same useless number as 11km for hellfire. Would be the same ~8km in game.
And even if God comes to earth, performs a miracle and makes a 12km range, you will still fly at a distance of 5-6km, because it will be absolutely impossible to use this missile at 7+km distance.

Anyway, this is a standard situation. Quite a few planes have never carried the missiles they have in the game.
In current game they are already worse than hellfire. JAGM would be probably a little bit heavier and that’s it. And there is no sign of any serious changes.

No Brimstone 2 was only ever fitted to the AH-64E AND Typhoon
Yes. And Typhoon got Brimstone 1, not Brimstone 2. And that why “only ever fitted” don’t work.
Though hopefully they’ll replace it with Brimstone 2 now and it was a massive mistake they did that to begin with

both AH-64E that are likely to be added can use JAGM.
AGM-179A will probably not have MMW enabled so it will be an AGM-114K.

In my opinion, they should change that - just remove the missiles that weren’t carried historically, and then rebalance the brs based on the abilities of the planes with the new loadout…
The best example for that would be trading the early MiG-29’s R-27ER1s that were never carried for the R-73s that were carried and developed conjointly with the aircraft, but there are most likely many more, such as the German F-104G never carrying the AIM-9J (allegedly, it only carried 2 AIM-9Bs under the fuselage and 2 AIM-9Bs/AIM-9B FGW2s on the wingtips: F-104G Starfighter, das G steht (nicht) fuer Germany).
