Nations not getting equal treatment isn’t my problem, you have to take that up with Gaijin. The US only made 4 different oscillating turret tanks (to the extent of my knowledge), so are you saying all 4 types should be premium vehicles? What should we replace these “prototypes” with instead? Gaijin is choosing to add the T58, and I’m not happy with it being a premium. Why should I have to spend 10 hours at work just to buy a tank I have great interest in? Why even argue on behalf of interesting vehicles being locked behind pay walls and what not?
I’d rather work for 10 hours than play GRB for 10 hours
Yes I would agree, the state of the game economy is atrocious. Even if the T58 comes as a premium, I will be buying it regardless, but I know there are people who will not spend money on the game who would also want the vehicle, they shouldn’t have to spend money.
I would love to take that up with Gaijin, but with this kind of thing it’s certain nations being favoured over others.
In the end this will boil down to the same bulletpoint as people have when other trees lack vehicles in certain spots: “Just go back in time and persuade your government to put that vehicle into production lol”
I’m sure others have great interested in, let’s say, the Turm III as well, but that thing didn’t go into the TT either. Why? Probably because it was only a prototype.
As I’ve said before, you should be glad whenever such a vehicle gets added to the TT and you shouldn’t expect this kind of vehicle to be researchable.
Sadly we live in a world where people are unwilling to pay for reskins and demand for premiums to be unique, so Gaijin paywalls unique vehicles.
I understand prototype vehicles will be premiums, I get that, but are we going to make every prototype tank added to the game a premium?
If people continue to complain about premiums and event vehicles no being unique, then we will end up with most prototypes and trial vehicles being premiums and event vehicles.
I would prefer for these vehicles to be in the TT or at least be SQVs as well, but as I’ve said earlier on, other nations deserve to have more of their prototypes and trial vehicles to end up in the TTs as well. As it stands, prototypes in the TTs almost always are emergency additions for when crucial vehicles are lacking though.
That would be dumb.
Considering 70% of all possible uniqueness comes from prototypes, the rest limited use/non-exported vehicles.
With War Thunder having a big part of it be “tech-tree = nation,” having non-exported/imported vehicles be tech-tree whenever possible goes a long way to balance out the historcal export side and their additions.
The only reason why people complain about premiums and event vehicles being unique, is because usually they have to sacrifice a great amount to obtain these vehicles. Event vehicles are excessively long to grind, so if I’m going to grind it out, I better be getting something cool. Premium vehicles are pretty pricey, so if I’m going to be spending real world money, I better be getting something cool. Video games aren’t supposed to be a second job, actually I would bet money that most people play video games to get away from the current state of the world.
So you get why I’m saying that vehicles like the T58 ending up as premiums is to be expected?
People don’t put any value into the economical advantage of premiums and the fact that even reskins of TT vehicles would let you skip straight ahead to your favourite vehicle (provided there is a reskin of your favourite vehicle).
I’m not gonna deny that the premium vehicles are getting pretty expensive at this point and that the event grind can be pretty bad, but people still buy the premiums and grind for the event vehicles (or pay for the marks/buy the vehicles on the market).
Live service games and F2P games are designed to make people buy microtransactions to avoid having to put a lot of effort in and the way to change that would be to not play such games.
This is the world we live in and sadly the devs of games like WT don’t realise that they probably could rake in huge amounts of money by providing a subscription that lets you use all vehicles without having to grind for them.
would you be able to research vehicles while you have the subscription so if you end up stopping it, all the time you put in doesnt go to waste progression wise?
Can we expect Python 4 on f16I sufa and F5 THC? i mean its the right time to add the last pack of 4gen missiles, and it shouldnt be unbalanced because the platforms that could get it lacks in performance, it could be added same way as r73 before, they added it on a su25 Bm if im not mistaken and after a few months every newer russian aircraft got it
You should be able to research vehicles while being subscribed or have a research point pool that can be used to unlock vehicles without having to pay for the research point transfer.
Sadly I am not in charge of WT and Gaijin either hasn’t thought of such a subscription service or decided against one for some reason.
its too good, when someone starts to buy premiums for a tech tree they are probably more likely to buy premiums to grind out another, they lose that with a subscription that lets you play whatever you want
The Su-25BM is an event vehicle and other previous such cases (all aspect missiles being introduced on stuff like the A-10). I don’t think they would waste the opportunity to lock Python 4s behind a paywall, so I wouldn’t expect either one of those planes to introduce Python 4s
I do understand what you’re saying, 100%. What I don’t agree with however, is Gaijin adding the T58 as a premium when there aren’t any alternatives to add to the tech tree, especially since the T54E1 is a premium as well. I do understand prototypes will be premiums, but not all of them should be, especially when there aren’t alternatives for TT.
It could also be that they are worried about the amount of blowback they will get when they add it with the same armour as base M1a2 and completely ignore the documentation regarding the new armor package.
Dunno, I feel like more people would be willing to pay for the subscription than for 70 bucks tanks and 80+ bucks planes.
Hard to tell which model would rake in more money in the end, but I feel like the subscription model would attract more players, which in turn would result in even more money being made
if there was a subscription like that, it would be so atrociously priced not many people would get it.
Putting a high pricetag on it would be a bad business decision and would definitely lead to people not paying for it.
Profits come from making smart business decisions and there definitely are ways to make a subscription service like this both profitable AND appealing to the customers.
