Yeah, IR+Laser+GPS will do just fine
I agree the introduction of Sub Nation Tabs addresses the main issues that we are currently experiencing, While also assisting players in creating unique line-ups, and this does not funnel certain nations into having unbalance / not diverse enough composition.

If added at at full strength (MMW+IIR+GPS) then it would be slightly worse than an accurate Brimstone, however I imagine it will come with just the IIR+GPS function and be added along with the SPICE 250 which has a similar seeker

in my opinion just get rid of the nation line ups all together let the line ups be from any nation,
While keeping reseach that you only of the same country counts towards them
That way would actualy reward players to research multiple trees
No more capability gaps, answer is just fill the role via another nation
tbh they may only add it with Laser or IR plus GPS and IOG, I think LOAL is the issue.
Though I’d personally prefer if they just gave us the full capability, at least for air battles

It is beginning to reach that point tbh, with the addition of more subtrees (and nations possibly), war thunder has become so widely copy&paste that full game lineups will be more beneficial for game health and longevity
Its not it was an old Suggestion made by a community member on the old War Thunder forums, I’m currently trying to find it, as it was really unique and exciting.
From what i can remember Its implementation would bring another great way to upgrade / improve crew repair costs, repair time etc and give the game another Edge, it was done on a 5 tier upgrade system to different buildings on the base, be it a Hangar / airstrip, Barracks port etc each are would be able to be upgraded and increase certain areas of the players account.
honestly the Brimstones are slow enough, at least the first gen that we have in game, really should have added second or third gen with the increased range that we can’t use, but at least it would fly fast enough to be useful
We have Spear 3 to counter the range argument, british AGMs are simply better than US ones
it would be specialy for the countries like canada /australia
even germany and so on.

Canada/ australian players only need to research germany/US /UK as well then to get their stuff

i actually like the Nations option, NATO vs Warsaw would be nicer, rather than anybody vs anybody.
Id rather play with a Unique perspective western vs eastern technology etc, i really really wish they brough back historical battles, from past history

You know, SPEAR 3 has UAI integration
The F-15E also has UAI. All it takes is 1 SPEAR 3 in US inventory at any point in time, and then it’s possible to put SPEAR 3 on a strike eagle
Also our cruise missiles are better
You can carry 18 SPEAR 3 on EFT vs 28 GBU-53 on a strike eagle anyways lol

Indeed not only nations as you can see their history.and top of that a nation can have their stuff together instead of being ripped apart to a piece majors that hate them.

That’s why the new Nations sub-tree will address this issue. By consolidating all vehicles into their respective operated nations, these will gradually grow and become self-sufficient. At least it’s a step in the right direction.
I’d prefer this approach over having four Merkava’s in the American tree and then, two years later, seeing the Israeli tech tree filled with 30 additional Merkava’s! (sarcastic response but you get the idea, I’m trying to portray)
The same goes for Germany having Italian planes and bombers, only to repeat this in the Italian tech tree a few years later — just two examples
