They have F-35Is, F-15Is, F-16Is, plenty of F-15C/D Akef Meshupar aircraft, F-16C/D Block 40 Barack 2020 aircraft. They fulfill all of the needs of the IAF, and there’s literally no reason to arm a M-346 in their stead. It’s a trainer for pilots, that’s really just about it. That’s also how they ordered it, otherwise they would have ordered the armed fighter/strike variant. Cost isn’t everything, especially when it’s an aircraft that’s much less equipped and capable overall. The IAF prioritizes effectiveness and quality, not cost effectiveness. It’s a slow aircraft, and a trainer. That’s its entire purpose.
They ordered it without countermeasures, without any gunpods, and without many other small features.
It’s a trainer for pilots. That’s it.

Most of the electronics for the Penguin is actually located in the pylon, making it a perfect weapon to retrofit.

To fit their ever maddening schedule Gaijin decided to do a calendar rework and added a leap day to January on every 5th year.
No, you got it all wrong. 3 at the front looked bad, so they changed it to 4, making months 40 and 41 days long. Then they decided that 41 does not look right, so they made it 42. When it comes to February, they just made it 40 too, just so it fits.
The gripen E has an amazing AESA, better than Captor-M by a significant margin, although it’s not better than the Captor-E series due to sheer size and tech differences

And the Hendsoldt ECRS Mk.1 (the radar selected for the German EFT fleet) is an AESA, and thus better than both the Gripen E’s raven AESA set and the CAPTOR-M, please read what I wrote in greater context next time :D
