Think thats because a lot of people just want Penguin to be added to other aircraft, from most posts i haven’t seen people say they were interested in grinding it but rather that their nations will end up getting Penguin soon.

Not without modified pylons, the Norwegian F5A has 9 pylon mounts
In terms of merits the Gripen E will have:
Better radar
More fox–3s (until dual pylons on EFT)
Better/equivalent DASS suite
(Better than German EFT due to IRST)
Better airframe (smaller and lighter)
Whereas it loses to EFT in:
Payload options
Payload capacity
TWR (basically most flight performance metrics)
Dogfighting ability (will be relatively equal though)
Slightly worse cockpit imo
Equivalent ECM/EW suite
Besides that, they both play to eachother’s strengths and weaknesses, and will be a formidable duo when paired together
Again im waiting for NG before E, gaijin so far has shown they have no interest in accuracy when it comes to the gripens so adding another gripen thats gimped because gaijins too lazy to fix it means i have no interest in its arrival

you would perform better against the Uk one since they get asraam instead of IRIS-T
Under fuselage I’d have to guess, don’t know where else you could put them, there’s no room on the wings because of the landing gear

Even against an IRIS-T armed EF it would be about equal since the Gripen also would have an IRIS-T, which neither can flare or out-pull in any way. It would just come down to who can press their launch missile keybind the quickest since FCS differences won’t matter at how close range it would be.

It’s simply for training, that’s the whole reason it was purchased. They have plenty of other aircraft and there’s no need to use this one in any combat capacity as was seen with aircraft like the Kfir TC.2, TA-4H/J, F-16B/D, or F-15B/D which were very capable of combat for their time. This aircraft is slow, small, and the IAF have pleeenty of other options.

ta-4h was very slow aswell but it was used as a combat plane,the m346 is very combat capable. its cheap operating cost would be a alternative to using the main fightera like baz,raam,adir, adn sufa for miniscule air raids ,which dont require large payloads

Do I think that it could happily compete against them, then yes. But I do think it would be a true equal? No. It will lack in some areas, as it does IRL. But it should come ASAP and be at the same BR as them and it would fair well against either. Though of course that is if its not nerfed into the ground like the Gripen A/Cs are currently.
