Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

No, Israel only ever obtained the Aim-9L and Aim-9M.

That’s not how things work. If it gets the countermeasures, it doesn’t just get “a ton of them”, it only gets as many as other M-346 variant. And if it gets countermeasures, it most certainly will get the underbelly gun pod.
Keep in mind it’s also got a strong radar compatible with the Derby, the potential for gaijin to give it Elbit’s Dash or Targo HMD, potentially the Python 4/5s, LGBs, up to 6 AAMs, Mavericks, and more. All of these capabilities are found in other M-346s in foreign service, and as such gaijin could give it these capabilities ingame.
We already have a 9.7 strike jet anyway, the Ayit.

Sipri is pretty reliable but if you have evidence to the contrary then be my guest

The evidence is that there is no primary source evidence suggesting Israel obtained any Aim-9”S” sidewinders ever. A single website isn’t a source. There is however documentation detailing the acquisition and purchase of the Aim-9M for training usage on F-16s, and as such it’s entirely possible they were used in the Lavi as seen in the photos. The Aim-9L is also known to have been used in IAF aircraft and are the reason for multiple confirmed kills. They never had the Aim-9”S”.

Sipri uses mostly first hand sources and a handful for each one
They have made mistakes but they arent left on the page i used, they can miss things however so you may be right but unless anything to the contrary i am more likely to believe Sipri, which again is a somewhat decent source just not a primary one

Since it’s possible we might eventually get strategic bombers, here’s a look at the vehicles that would qualify:

USA
(So many x and y planes!)
B-36
B-47
B-52
B-58*
B-1
B-2
B-21

GBR
Washington
Valiant
Vulcan
Victor

DEU
Nope

RUS
M-4
Tu-16
Tu-22
M-50
Tu-95
Tu-22M
Tu-160

ITA
Nuh-uh

FRA
Mirage IV

JPN
Nada

ISR
Zilch

SWE
Zip

CHN
H-6

… a pretty unbalanced list, many nations won’t have an option. That said, we’ve got no idea how the Strategic Bombing mission type/game mode will work, and it’s likely that the gameplay will require a variety of vehicle types on each team (as all modes in War Thunder do) so it’s not like nations without Strategic Bombers won’t be able to participate.

Missing TSR 2 there, think something between a Vulcan and a Tornado, (which tbf is where it sits chronologically).

sleeping on the B-32 smh
forgot the A-3 and FB-111, and B-50
also B-45 and A-5
there are easily like 3 B-52 we could get too lol

nothing really wrong with list being unbalanced though

would be great to see XB-70 too if doing prototypes.

funny enough, the BAC TSR 2 first flew only 6 days after the XB-70

Hungary and Italy were only allied for about three years during WW2. During WW2 they were enemies, they were enemies after the Italian armistice, and they were enemies from the end of WW2 to the end of the Cold War in 1991. Being allies is only one factor among many.

Britain has their own domestic options, the Ajax and Boxer CT40.
