Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

It’s just going to be a missle bus. Nothing special.

Excellent for Air Sim and for an RB EC gamemode. But I do think there is a time and place for the ultra-short furball gamemode which is ARB

As far as I heard (like everyone else said) no.

Where it’s interesting is

A. It’s a new airframe
B. The nations it could go too

Also the cinematic aspect. F-18 is a common go-to for “US Fighter”. Think Independence Day

They going to model the missile getting stuck on a rail causing the pilot to have to crash in to a target to save the world?

Yep, it’s iconic and hypable, which is more than enough for it to be in the spotlights of the update even if the plane is mid.

Avg TT pilot right there.

Errrm Australia is not a subtree (and Canada isn’t either)
Britain doesn’t need a Hornet anyways.

What any war thunder Air RB match is, at lower tiers it actually planes at top tier, its missiles.

Could make a decent high tier SARH slinger if its the CF-18. We dont really have one anymore. Its the F3 at 12.0 and then into ARH slingers at 13.0+

Would prefer a CF-18 over the Mig-29K any day of the week

Yeah…

Yeah, an early CF-18 would actually fill a gap in the British tree

“What people thought stealth meant”

Yep, wouldnt play it much, but would be fun in the 12.7 SB bracket if it was that low. At the moment for that bracket its just the Gr7 and Gr4, both of which are 12.3 ground attackers or running the 12.0 F3

True.

At the end of the day, being meta isn’t part of its addition.

As bar the Finish one of Sweeden, it’s effectively filler for any other nation that could get it(not that it’s a bad thing), as well not needed, it’s an addition to the possible nations would be appreciated.
