The optical track is what kills the ADATS as it can’t be used when there are clouds or at long range

ADATS users/sufferers - I haven’t touched it since they added the ammo box, how are you guys finding it now you can reload the missiles on a whim? Could help for some anti-tank action. The actual reload rate from the ammo boxes is pretty good.

That is why I disagree with AIM-120 on F-14D.
Yes, the US considered and planned to install it on F-14D, but They ended up cancelling it
Because it is not cost-effective.
