That is why I disagree with AIM-120 on F-14D.
Yes, the US considered and planned to install it on F-14D, but They ended up cancelling it
Because it is not cost-effective.
Sounds like F-14/F-16AJ to me.

Not much changed. I play it the same.
The worst part was when they changed the base orientation of the radar dish, so my decal broke
Well thats a problem😅
But against plane its fine
Kinda satisfying to watch thos missiles hit the pesky su25
Thats my bad them confused with ito and co.
Still stands more ready to fire and tank to tank capability
Every nation needs a QN506 type tech-tree vehicle to swat annoying helicopters out of the sky.
Freccia with 10 Spikes and the 30mm is better :)))))))
QN506’s missile is much better than spike with its double guidance time. But spike is good for it, as well. Just don’t count on the spike being able to chase the helicopter to the moon and back like the QN506.
No it was never done because of politics. It was a brand new plane
My point is that it can use AIM-120 its just the navy didn’t buy the adaptors because of politics. There better evidence for the F-14D being able to use AMRAAM (you know because the plane was made to use just never in service) Then there is evidence for R-27 on a the IRAF F-14A
There is no reason why it would be unable to use it the F-14As that tested it had the same everything that F-14D had par the engines. They were later converted to the full F-14D level as well but most of the F-14Ds were brand new
You still have it better than the TOR-M1. You can’t put any decal/decoration on that massive radar (both the frontal dome and the top dish)
The best you can do is just put bushes on it to trigger bush haters
*25 mm for in-game variant
I don’t think there is a early SPYDER that fires P4
But like, why though? The Aim-54 Pheonix is massively underperforming and Gaijin is seemingly purposely ignoring it. We can’t trust them to fix the Phoenix, so we need to push for the Aim-120 AMRAAM.
The F-14D gets Aim-7P Block II, which has Datalink, IOG, and lofting, giving it very good performance for a sparrow (still not an AMRAAM though)
It also gets the Aim-54C+ ECCM/Sealed. Which is an Aim-54C but with EW countermeasures and extra chaff resistance. It’s also supposed to be able to hit maneuvering, small targets.
And the AN/APG-71 would be the best radar in the entire game (Yes, above the early AESAs/PESAs) with the AWG-9 Range and APG-70 Radar Modes and All Apsect PD. With 740km range is paired with another F-14D.
This is exactly why the F-14s should be blanket buffed and sent to a higher BR, and the F-14D should receive AMRAAMs.This seems more fair IMO:
F-14A: 13.0 - Buffed Aim-54A, Given Aim-9L, Given F-14B RWR
F-14 IRIAF: 13.7 - Buffed Fakour (Just all aspect seeker), Given R-73, Allowed 6x Fakour, Given SPO-15 RWR, Reduced weight by a small margin
F-14B: 13.7 - Engine Thrust Buffed to 30,200lbs, Aim-54C buffed, Given Aim-9M, Given Aim-7MN, Unnerf RWR
Blanket Changes: Hitbox follows wing sweep, AWG-9 Buffed
That seems way more fair IMO.
Probably the worst thing they could do. The F-14D would be heavily undertiered. Even without Aim-120s, it’s like 13.7 material.
can you take your F-14 ranting to it’s own thread, they’ve been in the game for years now just enjoy them
I didn’t ask these people to respond to me.
Oh, I get it.
Sounds plausible, and more convincing than F-16AJ now.
Still, personally, I just don’t like to see it as long as they end up to not buying adapter
Atleast he gets multiple attack aircraft…
I’m still waiting for domestic Japanese, Italian and Chinese (China has 1) top tier planes.
so make a thread and talk to other f-14 fans, we don’t want to hear it in R&R
Ok someone has been a little crazy
No, because it was a better use of limited funds available at the time, the integration of the LANTIRN pod and later GPS / INS system ended up far more useful considering the F-14’s role in the security actions it was involved with, post refit (Late 90’s thru 2006). Considering that JDAM / JSOW was otherwise very limited in terms of carriage for the Navy, and the F/A-18 at the time had poor systems and very limited range.
