and IF all of that comes to pass, then the US will need an AESA, and I’m sure they’ll get it before then anyways.
And that will still be before Britan, Germany, or Italy get one

Judging by the performance of the Rafales and Kfirs AESAs, I’m pretty sure nobody really needs an AESA

That is a separate conversation about an entirely new tree in a nation. Including Heavy bombers and AWACS
im talking about the 757 they used as a testbed for the F-22’s avionics lol

Whats wrong with it? The AESA radar on the Kfir C.10 is amazing, I would expect the Rafales AESA radar to be similar

France have planted the seed though. Now there is no reason not to add the Su-30 with BARS PESA or IRBIS AESA Radar. A new F-15 with an AESA Radar will surely follow, F-2 for Japan and Gripen E
And in a years time maybe a new Typhoon with a working Radar…

Irbis is also PESA. However, I agree that especially the minor Nations should get their stuff first, before the big three get AESA on already existing / additional 14.0+ airframes.

yeah, I’ve no issue with other nations getting AESA, just that the US is pretty low down the list of nations that need one right now.
And like I said, I’m hoping it comes to the F/A-18 first
