They are but only at low speeds and high AoA
Meanwhile they should lower at high speed to produce the shockwaves to slow down the airflow (jet engines do not like supersonic airflow)

the swiss government stated that their Hornets are technically unable to take A2G armament and making them able to would be too expensive for them
