Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I saw pictures of one which had tiny barrels below the wings but idfk how that would keep the thing from becoming a Subfire

Like what's that supposed to do?

YES I NEED IT.
More quirky floatplanes

Edit: dont know how this became relatet to a floatplane but that are beerbarrels under the wings.

GIB as TT or Event. also as far as i know they converted also at least one MK I/II spit as a floatplane.
Mayby the early version as event and the later one in the TT.

why not both TT? the seafire line could really use some actually seaworthy planes

How about this one, looks even more cursed

ooh that’s one way to make the catapults worth it

Waiiittt. No I like this one Britain needs not shit seaplanes and I was wondering if we ever put anything better than a Swordfish or a barracuda on anything.

The big shame is Britain never seems to have fitted a torpedo to a spitfire.

Floatplanes eh? I hope we get this one some day. Northrop N3PB “Nomad”, it could easily be a BR 2.3 floatplane as premium/event vehicle in Britain TT, and researchable vehicle in Swedish TT. The only user was the Norwegian airforce in exile, here is a pic of a restored aircraft in it’s RAF “Little Norway” livery.

It has 4x .50 cals in the wings, 2x 7.7 in rear turret, and carries 2000lb of torpedo or bombs.

I doubt a Spitfire would be able to fly with a torpedo

it’s just not a suitable airframe

quad .50s you say?

yea that thing would rip and tear

Yeah it looks unassuming but 4x fiddy cal is no joke.

I believe they can carry the weight, at least Griffons and potentially seafires, somewhat similar to the G.56 or whichever italian fighter it is.

But aerodynamically i imagine that doesn’t really work favourably.

a late griffon probaby, the engine power is surely there

im more concerned about the load on those flimsy Sports plane wings

like I know the MK24 carried 2 500lb bombs but a usable torpedo is far heavier than that

A lot of Merchant ships had old Hurricanes. But they didnt have floats. It was Return to land or ditch

I know, I was just making a joke.

sounds like a suicide mission either way

and I guess they didn’t waste trained pylots on a Merchant ship either

If they had to ditch into the water, it was pretty dangerous. But They returned to land quite often. I think

god now I gotta imagine ol’ Barry from the Dover fishing association getting so annoyed at the Germans that he gets into his hurricane

Hehe
