It’s worse than that. The Bayern Class was the counter to the QE class and by the time they’d gotten the last Bayern in the water we had come along and added insult to injury by commissioning 4 of the 5 R class ships as well as all the QE’s (Ramilles comissioned just over 1 month after Wurttemburg was launched).
Glad to see someone read that G3 post. (I hope).
Can’t believe i missed the only live naval discussion with all 5 mains watching.
Unfortunately the turtleback will make it almost unkillable.
They still have Mackensen and Ersatz Yorck to add and those should have been added instead of Scharnhorst as they’d be like Hood’s but with tradoffs (smaller guns worse belt better turtleback and reload etc)
There was, the G3’s should already get superheavy shells rather than Nelsons shittier ones but they were also going to bore out the 16 inch gun to 16.5 it seems but i’m still looking for an accurate source.
I’m probably wrong but I recall hulls being painted black was to stop the coal dust from being noticeable, not sure about the gold superstructure tho… could just be decorative maybe? Maybe the coal burners made so much smoke that trying to not be seen was kind of a wasted effort?
Dazzle camouflage was popular during the First World War, but from what I gather World War Two largely featured more grey schemes, sometimes with a blueish tone on some of the freeboard
Not really related to this update but I can see G3 coming after we get late war battleships, seeing as our only other 16” option is the Nelson/Rodney
I think in a timeline it would be QE-R-Nelson/Nerfed KGV (unnerfed KGV has ~20 (not a typo) inches of effective belt armour), then Vanguard, then Lion 1942 then G3 and then Lion 1944 as a singular gun was built…
Nope lmao.
I just watch drachnifiel a lot.
Realistic exposed fire control communication wires? :3
I really kinda want to know what the next pairing will be as with ARH coming there are surprising low ARH carriers on the leak.
I’ve made a list just for the jokes so don’t kill me lol but yea it tackles 8 out of the 10 nations all at once.
Spoiler
F/A-18
US
Britain - Canada or Australia (?)
Italy - Spain (?)
Germany - Switzerland
Sweden - Finalnd
Japan - Malaysia (?)
Su-30
Russia
China
Britian - India
Japan - Malaysia or Indonesia (?)
You can disagree with me but please remain respectful : )
ASW was much more heavily developed during the second war, so dazzle camouflage to reduce fire accuracy of submarines (by this point optical range finders & radar had rendered the effect almost nill against other surface vessels) was less needed than the pure camouflage value of the grey by the later stages of the war. Although Dazzle did feature during the early phases of the 2nd world war, but mostly with ASW groups or when operating around areas with high risk of U-boats.
For ARH carriers in general?
Yea it’s just a list to see what pairing can cover most of the nations in WT
Theres the 1939 Lion.
F-18 posting?
I found more CF-188 liverys.
RCAF 90th ani
I note you chose the Powerful, and not her less glorious sister, the Terrible.
It’s the one that has the best looking photos
Oh, I don’t know if I’m misreading but I’d think at least with US/Israel/Japan, the F-15C/J MSIP would cover those three (in addition to F-16C/D).
Russia has their next Su-27 I think and Mig-29 SMT.
Sweden, Britain, and Italy have their Gripen Cs (and F-16 ADF for Italy).
China has the F-16 MLU, J-8F and probably some upgraded J-11 variant.
France the Mirages.
Germany is probably in the roughest spot with the F-4F ICE unless they get some other offering.
So all in all most nations already have their ARH carriers (US/RU/UK/CN/IT/FR/SWE/ISR) and a few will get new ones that’ll also be copy paste for existing nations (US/JP/ISR and RU/CN). Excluding premiums and other stuff they could add as I don’t know.
If they go the F-18 route with US, then I’m not sure which direction they’ll go with Japan as there’s Thai F-16A or Gripen Cs.

Yes. Most notable on ocean liners of the time since they were supposed to look pretty for customers. But navies still didn’t want their ships looking disheveled so black hulls were a common color for pre-dreadnoughts to hide the streaks that appear after coaling.
Except for America, high-vis white with bright star spangled/gold crests on the bow. That’s how a ship is supposed to look.
