Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Never have high expectations and you will never be disappointed.

Look at all the crying that’s been done over the F-15, Grippen and Flanker additions.

I was just saying that based on the statistics of the early variants most likely to be added, I wouldn’t hold your breath on it being meta defining.

F-14A late, F-14D and maybe some prototypes such as F-14ADC. Iranian F-14 would be a nice premium.

Yeah I can see it being added with all tested/possible stuff to make it reasonably different from previous models (AIM-120, AIM-9M, HMD, etc)

I mean we already have Mirage IIIs and they do quite decent.

most of it is the one side saying the other is op

Wouldn’t make much sense since A and B wouldn’t have a single difference in game and most AIM-120 users didn’t bother integrating the A it into their jets. I think the only exception from that were Germans who bought a small amount of AIM-120A together with AIM-120Bs for their modernized F-4F ICE.

JA37D for example only used RB99 which was their designation for AIM-120B and never even tested the A model of the missile.

Glad I wasn’t the only one telling people how matured the top end was for F-15, Gripen, and Su-27.
Tho Su-27 required me to have a few weeks of R-73 experience for me to realize it was ready.
Just wish 12.0 & 12.3 were 0.3 higher.
Then 10.0 - 12.7 being 0.3 higher.

I kinda don’t blame them to be honest with you.

The reputation of the Gripen, Flanker and especially the Eagle is quite prominent in western countries. They equate the K/D ratios and popularity of the Eagle lets say and assume it’s god’s given vehicle.

In reality the F-15A was quite underwhelming in terms of avionics and pure power when compared to later variants most of use grew up watching in the news.

Isn’t that what any later variant is about? Of course the F-15A isn’t the latest C with AESA or even the EX, the airframe was in service for nearly 50 years.

That in no way makes the aircraft underwhelming.

Oh I know and agree, I was more talking about people having inflated expectations of how aircraft are going to perform only to disappointed when it’s FM is nerfed in line with the proper performance metrics (as best as gaijin can/is willing to do)

This was recently seen with MiG-29 9.12/3, F-15, SU-27, and Gripen.

Iranian F-14 for USSR of course too :)

That makes sense then, some expectations were quite unrealistic.

Still all of these are pretty high performance aircraft, even after they all had their flight model corrections. The F-15 specifically seems to have gotten a lot better in the changes.

As someone that did have pretty high hopes for specifically the F-15J the only expectation that wasn’t met was APG-63 with PSP allowing TWS, which is already reported and will likely be added later.
(And I guess service ceiling, but that is something that wouldn’t ever be used in game anyways, not to mention that I am in no way sure if the in game value is incorrect or not)

I doubt many people were actually expecting any of these aircraft to break the game, the general consensus seems to have been that it was just the right time for these aircraft at a 12.7 BR, which I personally still think they deserve.

or US
i know people will fight over this it could go to either

Not even Gaijin would risk doing that

dies

it would only work if that T90 for US leak happens

It’d have to be more along the lines of a MiG-29 or Su-27 if they want to try and get away with an F-14 in the Russian tree.

An F-14 in the USSR tree would be an absolute meme and a half.

Almost as much as an Iranian F-14A premium in the Israeli tree.

Oy vey.

wouldnt a premium f14 imply the addition of rank 9?
Late 4 gens and early 5th?

US doesn’t need another F-14, and an F-14 with R-73’s, R-27’s, and the Sedjil would be amazing.
