Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Don’t think anyone said premium. Likely would be an event, if Gaijin really wanted to stick their hands in that particular fire.
Could be interesting if they full committed. Event where you get either the Iran F-14 (Russia) or Su-27 (USA), but not both.

Neither does the USSR need a F 14 at all lol

There’s no reason an Iranian vehicle would go into the USSR tree though.

its a F14 using all russian weapons like r73 r27 and i think r77

Most modern day Iranian vehicles are based on Soviet vehicles. So there’s a chance

Only R73 and R27. R-27 failed to work

they had their own missile to replace the aim 54 i can’t remember what its called

Fakour. It probably uses some technology from R27 and R-77

Fakour 90
As far as anyone knows its just a Phoenix the Iranians managed to reverse engineer.

could be better
could be the same
could be worse
no one knows
best to just keep it the same as the 54C

Iranian F14 can also use the modified MIM-23 Hawk missile.

We know it can’t go as far, and Iran only received the A, so it’d be a little weird to make it the same as the C.

well it would make sense for the balance as we don’t know how good it is

Could be, especially with the leaked american T-90

Exactly, we don’t know how good it is, therefore we should stick with what we know, being the AIM-54A, rather than hoping they figured out how to make it better.

Well, the one isn’t related to the other. A Russian tank captured by the US makes sense being in the US tree (I definitely do not support it), but Iran isn’t the USSR, nor is it a Soviet ally.

The reason behind it is that Russia mains would be (more or less rightfully) mad if the captured T-90 gets added. The only way gaijin can avoid that is to give russia something top american aswell.

But that could be something else

An Iranian vehicle?

Wrong. Flat out. T-72, T-55, BMP-2, Grad, Uragan, 2S1, various field guns, Mi-17 , now Mi-28NM (on the way), MiG-29’s, Su-35’s (on the way), Su-24’s, Il-76’s, I could go on. They finally did something with all the Su-22’s that fled Iraq in 1991, and about 20 or more serve in the Iranian air force now, capable of dropping all sorts of smart weapons that the older Su-22’s really couldn’t. If the devs wanted to, they could give the USSR yet another Su-22, maybe make this one an event vehicle.

The F-14? You could build a nuanced argument, mostly centered around the fact that the Soviets never received the F-14 from Iran, nor do we know of any inspections or test flights. Specifically, for the F-14, I guess you could say that it doesn’t meet the same criteria.

I still think USSR or China are the only places an Iranian F-14 could go in game, and I do think a second missile bus for China would also be nice.

The Sedjil.

The fact that Iran used Soviet vehicles doesn’t mean they belong in the Soviet tree. By the same logic, most Western countries belong in the US tree.

USSR was the first country to recognize Iran on the international stage. The two peoples have a complicated history. Recent relations have only grown stronger.

How do you think they all got there? Lmao

Also, before minor (mostly Western) nations started getting fleshed out, they mostly belonged to the US’s tech tree. Just ask any Canadian fan about how messed up the whole business is, or remember how Israel was going to be a sub-tree of the US…
