Why making “late” and “early”, if Italian AF have never even used AIM-7 on their ADF? Keeping it at 12.0 also doesn’t make much sence.
Other than keeping a 12.0 for Italy to fly.
Add AMRAAM and you go from 11.3 in the Tornado ADV to 12.7 in the F16A
Italian ADV didn’t carry AMRAAMs. I mean it would make sence to keep ADF at 12.0, if it had some CAS options (in case of further decompression of the ground tech), but without them it’s pointless.

If you added AMRAAM to the current F-16A its BR would go from 12.0 to 12.7 at least.
Meaning it would be Tornado ADV at 11.3 to F-16A ADF at 12.7. A huge jump.
So its better to add a second F-16A for those AAM upgrades to maintain the 12.0 and to add a top tier option. As for CAS. Best bet is an upgraded Tornado IDS. Like the Tornado A200C

I brought up Mig-29 through French 60x160 cartridge filler.
Had a major discussion about MJU-7 flares, which led to my acknowledged report for Gripen to reduce its flare size from large to standard since it uses the same 1x2 inch standard as MJU-7.
Size is smaller but not the ir signature

I didn’t say that. But having something competitive at high BR instead of being stuck at 11.3 was definitely the main talking point.
Well Gripen was the best case scenario for Britain in a lot of people’s eyes. Idk if you remember but people were literally meme’ing Britain getting another Harrier or Tornado leading up to the update.
They are literally admitting Typhoon is too powerful and way too advanced to be added right now, I seriously doubt that “precedent” you’re making up matters.

It had one big FM nerf (which admittedly was based upon terrible sources) however I think we can all admit it’s FM was pretty ridiculous and uncompleted on release, it’s second “FM nerf” Wasn’t really a nerf, it arguably got slightly better. Its FM is incredible. BOL change sucks but it’s no dealbreaker, it’s still a top dog in that regard
They have been, but with the amount of complaints directed at Gripen performance (in that its competitive) I doubt they will undo the nerfs

Well they still use large countermeasures for now, though hopefully that’s fixed soon.
I can accept that MJU-7/1x2inch isn’t large, but I would love a 3 tier IR CM system like DCS in that case, I know that.

Likely, cause I was bringing up filler as an argument to attempt making MJU-7 flares large caliber [it failed], and I also made the argument for a 3 tier IR CM system instead of the two since there’s significant enough disparity.
Yeah, F-16A (used for repair or B trainer) can be added, plus Hungarian branch can bring MiG-29 to these BRs, or even better they can add Romanian Lancers and Sniper which will perfectly fill that area.
Anyway I don’t think a br gap can be a valid reason for not giving ADF at least its AIM-9M (or L/I), imo a lack of top br jet in the TT is a more important issue.
Yes, and im not denying that nor complaining about the Gripen Being added. but just because Gripen has now been added doesnt mean Britain shouldnt still get other aircraft. We have plenty of options before Typhoon, and I dont want to see them benched for a year because “you have the Gripen”
I get why people would have been unhappy, and the Gripen is certainly good fix for that, but I still would have taken either and quite frankly, still want those. Just because “its another Harrier or Tornado” doesnt mean we shouldnt get them, Heck the US got 5 F-16s last year alone, with more on the way.
Simple prescedent. Typhoon has to come after US and USSR equivalents, same way Gripen came after F-16C, same way Tornado F3 came 6 months after F-14A, same way most British aircraft are added after other nations. its fair to assume Typhoon will now come 3-9 months after equal aircraft like F-15C with AMRAAM
Then its PC related. Tornado F3 is also having the same bugs currently. Both reported. so maybe eventually fixed.
its mostly the BOL nerf that is annoying me, but its also things like the lack of centre line weapons and the generally unfinished and rushed feeling of the aircraft. Like I said, might play it more in March when its finished, unless something else is added. If not happy, with the other aircraft in the tree. Quite frankly, Its not just the Gripen I find boring, its top tier in general. The 10-11.3 ish BRs have better balance and generally more fun gameplay. I like a good BVR fight as well, and the Gripen is just DOA in that regard.

But I also get why its not been done yet, even though it would have been the easy fix for Italy. Also cant forget Hungarian Gripen Cs as well.
We’ll see. But for the same reason I want a second Tornado F3 added, A second F-16 should probably be added (both could even be foldered)
I think they will add Hungarian Gripen with AIM-120, upon the introduction of the full Hungarian (or Hungarian/Romanian) line, maybe not so soon.
