@Morvran Dude, with all due respect I don’t see how you’re not happy about the British air tech tree right now? You guys even got an unexpected Gripen - and I don’t see any major competitors to your Gripen until Eurofighter era aircraft arrive… And when that happens you’ll be getting the Eurofighter… Britain is in a great place for top tier air.

if it does and the FA2 and F3 AOP come it will fill the gaps but no AMRAAM on Gripen is not gonna be a fun time
What i wonder about the upcoming new “dual BR” is how the repair cost gonna be.

thats the thing, gajin wants the grippen specificaly at 12.7, amraams would give it another br increase, gajin will use that as justification and put a amraam missle truck at like 13.0-13.3
The grippen maybe is not supposed to have that role but as a lower br fighter

well considering there are multiple aircraft that are at lower BRs that are Aim-120 & other active radar missile capable such as the Italian harrier, ADFs, MLU, F.3, J8F and JH7-A.
Potentially the Mig21-93 and MiG-23-98 with R77s and R73s as well.
I believe these aircraft will compete at 12.0 range and a new pseudo top tier will form.

multiple F4Fs are aim 9l capable, but do not have them to not suffer at their increased brs, same concept, besides that the aircrafts you named are 11.7 at least and even better then an f4f ice depending at what u look at

i dont agree, they would add it in the march, no doubt, separation of chaff and flares are not an issue or limitation to add the missiles.
