In a GPS denied environment like MBDA say it can still be fired at targets and it will navigate to the target and hit it
AASM and Storm Shadow do the same thing with IR terminal lock
To say that the IR/IO is just for navigation is plain wrong especially in GPS denied environments

So please just accept it has an IR/IO seeker that terminally locks
In GPS dennied environment there is no GPS for the target so it must use the IR/IO for terminal or MBDA is lying about it being used in GPS denied environments

Well if you think about the entire tree and not just the F-15EX itself, putting it under the strike eagle wouldn’t be that incoherent. The 3rd line can already be filled with at least 3 different raptors. The F-15EX also keeps all a2g capabilities from the F-15E, and as such would act as the highest ranked heavy attacker in the tree (not comparable with the F-35s and their pretty limited load). And finally, stealth fighters will probably not be that much of a meta and the F-15EX will probably face these, so it could be coherent to put it along stealth fighters instead of above them

Well can’t the F-15C get some FM buffs? I don’t think it’s a bad FM, not the best sure but it should do fine at 14.3 with all the other stuff

it can get a low speed buff and a sustained turn rate buff by about 1 degrees at most speeds that would put it roughly on par with the su-27s
