Besides that, the sooner we are done with the Hornets the better if you ask me.

Same goes for the F-16. I honestly couldn’t care less about the F-18s—I’m just frustrated that we’re skipping so many F-16 variants and rushing ahead with other aircraft. From a development standpoint, it’s a pretty baffling decision.

And from what i read the turnrate will make the su30sm look like a normal aircraft.

it will have worse acceleration and top speed than the base hornet

Like… until the F-35 the USN line is just going to get mid sidegrades and not much else.

no gun and no internal IR missiles means it has to take them externally, which isnt great for stealth

You will still have to get pretty close (ish, 15-20 km) to launch your amraams effectively in the Super Hornet anyway, it’s not an EFT/F-15E that is at altitude quickly and can launch amraams from 40km at mach jesus.
So I doubt the AESA radar will make a massive difference.
In fairness the way the gunpod on the 35 is done shouldn’t affect the stealth aspect to much iirc. External IR missiles are indeed kinda cringe though but it is what it is.

theyre at the same BR. same goes for the US premium hornet, the US put all the stuff the swiss one has on US ones but because of some arbritary standard they already invalidated, it cant get any of it
