I don’t think Aces of Thunder blocks War Thunder from getting WWI content.
Gaijin and majority of WTs playerbase blocks WT from getting WWI content.
Similarly Enlisted doesn’t block WT from getting infantry, other factors (such as age restrictions and gameplay concerns) do.

This begs the question, if they are really adding infantry, could it be possible that the gamemode somehow has a different age rating? Is it even possible to do that?

Players being unable to engage in human to human gunfights will probably satisfy the ESRB and other such agencies enough
There were at least like 4 scenes in the trailer of shooting at ppl through a rifle scope
Mate, they aren’t adding Battlefield-like gameplay. They are adding AI soldiers as targets. AI soldiers that just get knocked out when hit by 155mm HE
These age rating agencies have some weird rules and standards and factors like the game being third person, there being no blood and/or gore, players not controlling individual characters, etc all seem to be things that help achieving a lower age rating

The event is up and running right now with 7 vehicles for you to obtain currently.
I mean, the event is pretty short this year, so there is a chance of another one. But the FPV drones 100% were a prank. Ain’t no way they could bring in something like that without getting an 18+ rating.

As we have already mentioned in the article and the very post you quoted, WW1 aviation will be a key part of Aces of Thunder currently. Beyond that, we have 7 vehicles currently obtainable in the ongoing event in War Thunder currently.
