Pardon me to question but I doubt Turkey has the same reeds as we do over there lol
Did they even trial it? I was under the impression GDLS was only marketing the abrams to UK. But no plan was in place to entertain the idea.

Actually, Abrams was quite heavily pushed for UK adoption.
Even local production was offered.

^ That was political, but from military assessment side, it was quite good, but the turbine’s fuel economy was the main concern as well as the overall programme costs being the most expensive of the lot.
Even slightly more than the newest Leclerc.
Still boggles me, why they fully terminated the MBT-80 project instead of halting it. They could’ve resumed/pursued it after the Shir-2 adoption.
