I agree with the point you are making, but this is exactly what was done when the first F-15Cs were fitted with APG-63(V)2 AESA radar.
It’s still a significant change that warrants another vehicle though.

I’d encourage you to look at the 2S6, which receives an entire new radar and optic with the 2S6M1 modification.
From what we’ve heard, AESA/PESA radars will not be massive game changers, at least in game. I doubt planes like the F-15C/E and F-16C would struggle with their mechanical radars so much that they couldn’t be a modification to unlock at rank 1-2.

So Typhoon Tranche 1 is AIM-120B and AIM-9M/Li if what you say is true.
Also @Blanchboi there is no such thing as improper weaponry in War Thunder.
F-4F isn’t using R-73s, and Mig-23 isn’t using AIM-9Ms.
2S6 is balanced based on the 2S6M1 part, and isn’t an aircraft.
That and you’d never use the other version of the aircraft with that modification present. It’s pointless clutter when a new aircraft to represent things historically is better.

Not only heard, but seen. The PESA radar on the Su-34 is just a PD radar that scans faster, effectively.
I’m talking about weapons these planes could actually carry IRL, and the AIM-120C-7 and AIM-9X were definitely compatible and available in the early 2000s.
It’s a representation of a new variant within one vehicle. The Su-24 has the Su-24M modification as well.
That’s what earlier blocks of aircraft would be for. For example, the F-16C Block 30 or 40 could carry just 9Ms and 120Bs, and the F-16C Block 50 can receive 9Xs and 120C-5s or 120C-7s like it carries IRL.

I personally don’t play air that much (mostly because it’s not really fun for me) so this issue affects me quite alot.
However that doesn’t mean that i don’t want them to add any more air stuff. Let air players get whatever they want but it should be the same for ground players too. And no, i don’t want any more useless premiums to ruin top tier even more. Just give us the SEP v3 with trophy and i’m fine.

is that so ? last time i can recal Mike pouting PRE after a vehicle (MBT-2000 , pakistan.) it was a pre-order . fair enough then , and it doesn’t change my point that it cant be the RDF/LT ADAi (AAI RDF Block 3) , since it’s still gonna be a premium no mater what

Always bring SAP/HE if you can using it on softer skin targets or causing fires is extremely useful
If you consult past Mike leaks, they aren’t often correct about which vehicle are premium, pre-order and tech tree. That kind of stuff seems like guesswork.
It’s not entirely wrong, but not reliable.
true but japan has a good mbt, decent air options, and a good spaa, its a good top tier nation, top 3 in my opinion
I hope that the RDF/LT at least stays as a premium, I’d like to see the BMD-4M as a tech tree vehicle though.

I find these a bit dull. I will be excited to see the first 12.0 and above IFV, whenever that comes.
The 9.0-11.0 are all a bit samey. Some kind of autocannon with a tow or spike.
2S38 at least makes it more interesting with a high calibre autocannon.
25-30mm gets dull after a while.
Skyranger or the rumoured chinese gatling autocannon AA would at least somewhat tickle the spot.
