a fiction, but almost came true, ended for being too expensive
yeah but it has a much slower initial speed than the Python-3 for example this would help the missile to pull better at the start.
It depends on how Gaijin will implement the PL-8B, might be different.
Bröther may have some J-14? Give me some J-14 bröther.
Why even compare the three? Kh-38 is in a league of it’s own.
Like yes, the 105mm is a good cannon, but it’s not a 120mm or 125mm. Just a different class altogether.
I’ve never had to intercept a Kh-38, but I’d imagine it’s hard. I’ve yet to see someone intercept them, I’ve only seen them miss from smoke/buildings/obstructions. Kh-29 however I’ve had intercepted plenty of times. Kh-29 is really the analogue to the AGM-65’s at least (even that’s a bit of a stretch).
Because they are currently direct competition at top tier. AGM-65 is literally the best AGM most nations have access too.
Until such time better AGMs are added for other nations, they are the only thing most nations have to equal the KH-38.
Brimstones could have been pretty close, but alas, was not to be
a good fire control radar is needed, AESA/PESA better, to know how many is in sky and which is the first to intercept
Brimstones are a meme imo. The only thing would’ve made them competitive, but still, not of the same class, is the payload (great HEAT/pen) and radar homing had they added it.
Youd trade speed and range for the quantity of missile carried and the seeker performance. Also Brimstone 2s match the KH-38 in terms of range and speed
If they’re launched the way I do, I launch one missile per target, so you just need to figure out which one is likely headed towards you first.
Like they say in the airlines, secure your mask before helping others secure theirs…
My quick search says Brimstone II goes Mach 1.3 like Brimstone I. Kh-38 goes Mach 2.2.
Aside from radar guidance (which I think in real life may be spottier than we realize), Kh-38 is basically just as good on guidance. Brimstone has roughly a 7kg warhead, Kh-38 can go as high as 250kg. Just seem like two different missiles entirely.
Brimstone vs Vikhrs seems like a better comparison imo.
this don’t matter, in game it usually won’t reached this speed, you will need a distance/time chart. for example, kh-38 fired from 12km is 1.4 Mach in average, Mav is 0.9 Mach
Brimstone in their current implementation are more like Vikhrs but they really shouldnt have been.
Brimsone 2s have a range of about 60km, which if we cap to 20km for War Thunder, gives them far far greater speed at short distances than Brimstone 1s. If it takes 60 seconds for a Brimstone 1 to travel 14km, then Brimstone 2 should only take around 30 seconds, if that. Which puts it closer to KH-38 impact times than an AGM-65.
Also Brimstone 2 can be used at “high off-boresight angles” meaning on something like the GR4, it wouldnt have to fly towrads the target first. instead it can fire and the missile will turn towards the target.
Why the GR4 came with SAL only Brimstone 1s and not SAL only Brimstone 2s is beyond me, would have made the fight a lot fairer at top tier
It’s about as real as the F-14J, they tried but it was wayyyy to expensive
Ik it’s actually pretty nice, I would get the WT live camo if I wasn’t on Xbox
Also someone please just reply twice and do 10k for me because I’m not allowed more than 3 consecutive replies
I see,btw don’t say the F-14J to me as I will start demanding it lmao.
Since purist from both China and Japan don’t want sub’s their’s only one other way to get aircraft lol
10K baby!
