They were terribly slow submerged and had no chance to keep up with warships.
Lethal in an ambush for sure, but it’s difficult to surprise anyone in a video game where everything is more or less predictable.

I really want to get the PO-2 but every year I’ve tried I’ve just been busy and haven’t been able to even get close to top 1000. If you have a job or a life outside of War Thunder your chances of getting it are close to 0

You spawn in, limited to 5.0 ships, while half the enemy team is already on 7.0s. So all you can do is sail for 25 minutes until you get stomped.

Exactly. Submarines are stealth vessels, but that’s their only advantage. Once detected, they are very vulnerable.
