If you play Britain at top tier you need Barham which is my entire problem with the addition of that ship because it forces monetary or intense grinding to make the top tier lineup viable because for some reason we don’t fix the tech tree before we make money…
Renown is not significant enough or good enough to be a requirement but having only 1 spawn is just not good enough when its Hood (2 if you use a backup).
So i think her price will go up.
As for the UK’s new top tier, I would like for it to be a refitted QE, however I have a little voice in the back of my head telling me its an R-Class which would probably be worse due to the speed insufficiency.

I am not an Ajax lover, CV-90 supremacy, I also disliked the conditions in which Ajax won, I dislike the way Ajax looks and finally i’m 99% CV-90 has higher Hp/t which i think will be more useful than some tacked on addon armour which will only be effective against RPG’s and the like, it also seems quieter than Ajax (and I don’t mean the vibration issues) which when playing ‘rat’ vehicles like Autocannon-mobiles i think is more important.
Also doesn’t CV-90 FRES have internal composite NERA or something?

BAE didn’t help themselves, but the final offer was very good and did include UK production after BAE forced BAE Hagglunds to allow it (initially Hagglunds wasn’t willing to allow it).
I would point out that quite literally half of the hull of Ajax is made in Spain which is where the problems come from whereas the entire thing on the BAE final bid would have been made in the UK.
More importantly the fella that picked Ajax got a job, on the executive level, at General Dynamics, after the competition had finished, General Dynamics build Ajax…
UK MoD corruption is pretty rampant. CV-90 was a more proven platform, with an existing variety of vehicles and addons (like different turrets) and support networks, with already existing pipelines into different roles such as SHORAD and seemingly higher growth factor like amphibious capability, it also retains commonality with other nations and had actual export potential as the CTA-40mm is the best autocannon in service at the moment.
I think CV-90 FRES was the better choice and the second they got the faulty hulls they should have voided the entire contract and gone with the correct option.

True, unfortunately they had a decade to fix their inane and stupid decision and didn’t, again because corruption.
Final nail in the coffin for Ajax is that its downright ugly and the ugliest IFV/AFV ever planned for service.
They could at least try and make it look like they didn’t just get a list of extras the UK wanted and just bolted them on wherever they could find space.
I am the certified no.1 Ajax hater.

You know what, I’d forgotten that existed (somehow for me IFV/AFV’s are only tracked and whatever the EBRC is is in its own domain).
No you’re right the EBRC is uglier which is very strange given France normally makes fairly attractive vehicles.
