while intresting yes, they first of all need to fix AHEAD, besides that it is mostly a cannon spaa with a few SAM missles, it wont be anything to special and only be short range denial. Maybe 10.3-11.0 depending on performance.
I am more looking forward to the boxer missle variant that will shoot IRIS SLM missles

ehh not completly, but similary, the Skyranger version of course wont get its rate of fire limited, it will shoot way faster. Combine that with the ability to still fire FAPDS as self defense and you get a funny little thing

so even if grippen will be in UK, may be it will be without air-to-ground
definitly it doesnt have the limited fire rate of the puma version and will shoot way faster , if AHEAD works it will clear skies fast
This particular Skyranger has 30mm instead of 35mm too. I wonder tho what missiles would it get since it could fit Mistral, Stinger and so on

“No new CAS jet” means no new CAS dedicated aircraft. Just because Gripen is a 4th gen and is multirole doesn’t mean it will be added without A2G because UK doesn’t need more CAS

Skyranger most likely will get a newer SAM system as well. Because Stingers are quite old and the launchers arent being build anymore. They would need to retrofit already existing launchers
