Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

Do you have a source for that?

The Leclerc is a more advanced tank compared to the Leopard, the problem is price.
Maybe if Germany wanted a more advanced tank they could get one, but the German defense ministry is practically the definition of incompetent. The one thing that I keep saying is that you ONLY ever go to Germany for a tank, because they’re near incompetent at everything else.

The Leopard 2 is a good tank for export, it should definitely get praise for that. It does a good job compared to its cost and that of competitors.

But would I take it over something like a Type 10, K2, or Leclerc if I had the budget?

This is exactly why you are getting chat ban

I would more say the Su-35 or J-16 is equal, the Su-30 is good but in my opinion not that good unless you give it the most modern weapons possible

To be fair, it would only be fair, if other countries keep getting Russian vehicles through dubious means

I believe it was the Washington times. Doesn’t matter if they recover it or not anyways, with the way that part of the world is going, they can pull plenty of them from the fields after this is over.

Su-35 should be the benchmark for J-11BG, J-16 is only multi-purpose

Su-30 (early) is absolutely on par with Eurofighter. Later tranches, probably not, at that rate, yes Su-35 or Su-30SM. J-16 is in a weird spot. Su-30MKK would be basically in the same spot as Su-30 (early).

Thats BS. There is video of russian solders walking past 2A6 but soon Bradleys came to try to save it. It didnt quite work out but russians havent got their hands on Leo 2

That’s entirely separate to the reports coming out. Time will tell.

Su-35 is itself multi purpose, and the J-16 might actually be better at air to air thanks too it’s AESA radar

J-16 is essentially a more domestic Su-30 for China with more modern avionics, such as an AESA radar. The only thaing that really holds the Su-30 and 35 back is that they won’t have AESA radars, which is definitely fine since they are very strong multi role fighters, but when we start looking at more modern NATO aircraft, it will start too have an impact.

Probably gonna have to wait until the end of this week is my guess, or next even

Where New Leopard blog?

This was just me messing around if the “devblog” were to start in the first week of December.
Which by now looking at it next week seems like a good place to start

nah, still to early for the dev blog.

I see, that must be why the Leclerc proved to be significantly worse than the Leopard 2 Improved during the swedish trials. 60% of the turret face protected against Mango was truly an achievement. Are there any plans to integrage an APS on the Leclerc by the way?
