Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up and Discussion (Part 1)

Not an option for either Britain or Sweden as neither would have access to F-16s, F-14s or F-15s.

If Britain was going to get an F-16 from say NZ, we should have gotten it 9 months ago.

F-18 with 9Ms and Aim7Ms is possible for both though. At a stretch

UK maybe will get RAAF f-18A/C

Or Canadian CF-18. Sweden could get the Finnish? F-18 as well, but Gripen C has been all but confirmed. If they got F-18 C&P after Gripen C was 99% confirmed for this year, theyd be rather unhappy

Smins reply about Fox-3s is the best thing I’ve heard so far when it comes to this update ngl

Typical Smin half-truths.

Notice how there is no direct denial of Fox-3s in December only “we never said they were coming then”.

I don’t think there 's any real possibility of the URSS techtree getting a prop-operating carrier; too many unknowns abt how they would’ve been configured, or what aircraft they would’ve carried.

In their place they’ll likely receive more ships similar to Bravy, but more capable - we’ve seen they’ve already added more soviet naval missiles to the files:

If there are any carrier-like ships the USSR might get before the Kiev-classe, it would more likely be these Mockba-class

There 's not too much to speculate on now, as they are already adding the controls for them to the files here: War-Thunder-Datamine/gui.vromfs.bin_u/wt/config/hud.blkx at master · gszabi99/War-Thunder-Datamine · GitHub ( Aircraft Carriers - WT Discussion - #43 by Motherhen357 )

And in WT Mobile, which has already stated plans to add player-controlled aircraft carriers, there are even more developments visible in the files: War-Thunder-Mobile-Datamine/aces.vromfs.bin_u/gamedata/units/ships/us_aircraftcarrier_essex.blkx at 0.0.9.54 · gszabi99/War-Thunder-Mobile-Datamine · GitHub ( Aircraft Carriers - WT Discussion - #18 by Motherhen357 )

Aircraft carriers gonna be playing a RTS while the other ships are playing a vehicle based shooter lol

I wouldnt say that

Yeah, the Gripen definitely is top tier worthy, even with just IR missiles. Otherwise the Netz and F-16A wouldn’t be at their current BR either

It has a less than 1:1 thrust to weight, it will be like a cross between a Mig-21 and a J7E maybe with a big of MLD in there but with just IR’s i genuinely can’t see it being top tier worthy.

Id imagine theyd get at least a premium, cuz theyre russia.

Probably Izmail in a theoretical 1942 layout with yak-9s and be-4s.

I should say Izmail is far more developed and “real” than other ideas people have thrown around such as Komsomolets and Projects 71 and 72.

It’s gonna be similar to Mirage -5F afaik.

It would be dependent on what else was added. Gripen C with 9L/i vs F-16C and Mig-29SMT would be just fine (I think, might be 12.0 not 12.3 though). But if US and USSR started getting things like F-15s and Su-27s. Likely at 12.7. Then they might struggle a bit. After only having 11.3s to fight 12.3s would be nice to leave it at 12.3 vs 12.3 for a least a little while before jumping it 12.3 vs 12.7s and then probably before long 12.3 vs 13.0 (though hopefully by then we’ll have fox 3)

How would the TT status of the vehicle change the possibility of it being added ? It 's not as if missile ships can’t be premiums.

If they are adding Su-27s and F-15s there are other things to worry about than just the Gripen being comparatively lacking with just IR missiles

I figure a one-off like a Soviet carrier Izmail (yak-9, be-4) or an Italian carrier Aquila (re.2001) is more likely to be a premium as they would be awkward without other carriers to make a line with.

To be honest, I don’t think any F-16s in the game is as strong as F-14B in the game at this moment, so that’s why so many peoples and some youtuber also said F-16s at this moment performance and armament is awful.

Both of these countries have “carriers” after WW2. Its as simple as having one carrier and then a bit of a gap and then the post-war carriers. Probably also throw in seaplane tenders and other auxiliary ships like that too.

Would like to see the context, he might have been just replying to someone that said “Gaijin said we’re getting Fox 3s in December”, which they didn’t.

Yeah… but that is what im expecting in December. Typically the BR of aircraft increases by 0.7 each year. Last year was 11.3 —> 12.0 so it wouldnt be unreasonable to expect this year to go from 12.0 —> 12.7.

You can guarantee which 2 nations will be first to 12.7
