Both of these countries have “carriers” after WW2. Its as simple as having one carrier and then a bit of a gap and then the post-war carriers. Probably also throw in seaplane tenders and other auxiliary ships like that too.
Would like to see the context, he might have been just replying to someone that said “Gaijin said we’re getting Fox 3s in December”, which they didn’t.
Yeah… but that is what im expecting in December. Typically the BR of aircraft increases by 0.7 each year. Last year was 11.3 —> 12.0 so it wouldnt be unreasonable to expect this year to go from 12.0 —> 12.7.
You can guarantee which 2 nations will be first to 12.7
While I agree that the F-14B is pretty strong for 12.0, calling the F-16s performance and armament awful is massive cope
Fair enough, but russia doesnt have any interwar seaplane carriers, just ww1/civil war ones.
Italy had guiseppe miraglia with 12? Ro.43 floatplanes.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen Woe yet
If we’re thinking of the same Izmail, she was scrapped in the early 'thirties - there 's no chance she was planned to carry an aircraft complement made up of planes that wouldn’t be on the drawing boards for another decade.
And Aquila could be in a lineup w/ another carrier - her sistership Sparviero. They would even have differences, in their onboard antiaircraft suite.
To be honest, it’s a wonder that we only went up by 0.7 last year, considering how much of a performance difference there realistically is between the Gen 3s we had and the Gen 4s that we are at right now
Where was this said? The Smin post that is.
Yes she was scrapped long before those aircraft existed, but really thats the nature of the beast with working with potential soviet prop carriers unfortunately. I cant find what her more realistic ~1930 layout could have been.
I mean i could guess “a naval i15 probably would have been developed” but im more comfortable with aircraft that i have some evidence of being navalized.
Yeah… F-14A at least would have been fine I think, but the moment they added F-16s and Mig-29s, etc, the balance at top tier fell apart. But only so long they can leave it until those aircraft were needed. Unfortunately the US and USSR wouldnt have been happy sticking with the F4 and Mig-23MLD for the next year or 2
There probably isn’t one. And in any case there 's little need for such a ship, whose capabilities would not be in excess of those present in the more-complete battlecruisers/battleships available and appearing ingame, or at a lower BR - missile ships can fill both niches while being easier to implement realistically, since they were completed.
The low drag makes up for it significantly
I think that if other nations get true aircraft carriers then russia will get a carrier too of some sort no matter how viable it actually was irl.
They’re not gonna add an entire new gamemode and not give it to the russians.
This is the most viable model i can think of, as i really dont want to get into the projects 71 and 72 that were never laid down.
I mean, gaijin did it to themselves really. They could have just said “Sorry guys, we gotta slow down for a while, here have some (interesting gen 3 planes/gameplay changes/tech reworks) instead”
As we are seeing right now, it doesn’t matter what the most modern at top tier is, people will always cry about wanting even newer stuff, until we get to the F-35
But i want the tempest
F/A-XX/Mikoyan PAK DP (MiG-41) when?!?
Mitsubishi F-X when???
I can’t believe we don’t have the FCAS and GCAP ingame yet smh my head
We know lol
