Next Major Update - "Eagle's Shadow" Rumour Roundup & Discussion (Part 2)

They should make any heli with mitl 14.0 like cas so its unable to see anything bellow top tier, or better yet 14.3. Make it so ONLY 13.3 can see them.

Oh, and then give everyone a pantsir smsv so we can actually kill them.

Does anyone know why we did not have the chance to get the Greek f104 during the eagles shadow update that was shown in the previous teaser sky odyssey ?

itll be so easy to deal with radar missiles, even side aspect you would easily have 3x more time to react since the seeker would go active but not see you.

Polish one looks better ;)

That’s certainly…

Man, a rework of the ticket system so it always is possible to end a match via destruction of AI targets would be nice

Spoiler

No targets left except for the 2 escort ships, one player on the enemy team left

While the introduction of a LITENING III targeting pod to the F-15IA is preferable over the horrendously incorrect and outdated LITENING II, it is still rather old and outdated.

I believe modern Israeli aircraft like the F-16I and F-15I, much less the F-15IA, should be given the Litening G.4 or even the LITENING V.

Is there even any difference between them at this point?

The resolution of the thermals of early pods already is way higher than it should be and modern ones have higher resolutions in-game than some people have on their monitors lmao

It has been a couple of years since the last update/rework to sights ingame. Hopefully we’d get a rework soon introducing better distinction than just 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen. Lots of ingame tanks have 1st gen thermals because IRL their night sight had a resolution somewhere between 1st and 2nd gen.

Better Litening pods specifically would give much better zoom levels than what we currently have with Litening II/III.

Considering it has no offensive armament and only one bomb, it’s understandable. Does it even get a timed fuse on the plane-bomb?

Only contact fuze and learning the angle at which the Ju 88 is released should be very easy as it is extremely consistent, so it’s just a matter of going first person and looking at the angles left and right of the crosshair

Having more AI targets would be nice. Currently every air battle above bottom tier only has the same rows of WW2 entrenchments with 3 howitzers and an AAA. A more dynamic battlefield with a huge frontline row of tanks and IFVs duking it out with an occasional SPAA thrown around would be amazing for ground attackers.

Personally, I’m for gameplay ease over realism whenever it’s not too extreme, tho I wish Gaijin would be consistent about their stance on gameplay VS realism.

They made SAM physics “hyper-realistic” in a gamemode where aircraft get an instructor, allowing them to outperform Tom Cruise.

I’m of a similar opinion, but having CCIP on the Mistel means that you don’t have to do anything except for guess the lead, if you are targetting a ship

Sometimes I feel like SAMs should have a lead indicator, but on some missiles that would make using them too easy.

The anti air that I believe should get more assistance would be pre-radar SPAAs. It doesn’t have to be anything special, just giving PC players the locking feature that consoles get would be a start.

Some level of rangefinding like they give to ships would also be nice. No lead indicators, just a rangefinder that can be used on planes without aiming at them pixel perfect and some level of tracking would be enough.

SAMs shouldn’t behave like they do ingame as is. It’s dumb how they pull a little better if you aim ahead of the target aircraft. That’s not how SACLOS works. When the target is within the radar beam, the missile should be able to see it and follow its own path. Think of it like radar-guided missiles, but the missile only sees the target when you look at it. Instead, all SACLOS SAMs and ATGMs behave as if they are beam-riding, following directly where you aim.

Heavy agree. SPAAs at 7.3 and below feel completely helpless against any aircraft that isn’t flying in a straight line towards them. An estimated lead like in naval would be amazing.

I know that the way you guide SACLOS in-game isn’t quite realistic, but I can understand why Gaijin doesn’t model it to work like in real life.
That’s why I would like to see a lead indicator.

Like, Starstreaks are MANPADS, there is no way the system would require the soldier to guide the Starstreak with surgical precision lol

I hope you get a good reward for shooting down the Mistel Ju 88s, because people will be using them en masse in ARB as soon as they get access to it lol

i can forsee the crowds of people spawning, firing the mistel immediately then rearming, taking off, firing, rearm, repeat already
