No next gen IR missiles for aircraft this year. Upgrades to current ones? Yes add new IRCCM and upgraded motors but we need to see how the upgraded ones we have in game will perform before we even think to add the next generation.
No it means that they add another broken missile for a few months to the russians or another blue country duh. I also highly doubt the C5 will be OP it just has more range due to less drag but loses to A/B in short ranges due to its loft.
Or YK it will be OP because of how MP doesn’t work with a missile coming directly top down. ( At least in real life)

Every weapon is the game is modeled incorrectly m8… they are all rebuffed versions. the 120c is no different.
I don’t have an issue with the Typhoon getting it, nice way to try and put words that were never said in a text there bud. The word Typhoon doesn’t even come up.
Also if you look at the original comment that the one you commented to coincides with, I give the ranges for the 120b vs 120c and in it you can see I show how the 120b is better at low altitude while the 120c is better at high altitude.

Range is improved; it is no longer just a situationally based missile.
- These ranges are based on a launch aircraft at 1.2 Mach and a target aircraft, not maneuvering at the same altitude.
- At 5000ft altitude, 120C now has 6 miles better range than the 120b (before the 120b had 6 miles more than the 120c, so major change)
- At 16000ft altitude, 120c has 15 miles more range than 120b
- At 32000ft altitude, 120c has 19.3 miles more range than 120b
I have checked the findings in-game as well, and the math shows to be correct within the margins of error.
- The range in reality is always going to be less as the range I put is under perfect conditions, reality you take half of it due to people maneuvering so the actual effective range from 32000 feet for instance is really about 30 miles as opposed to the data 69 miles (which is frankly insane distance because that’s about 10 miles more of effective range then a 120b)
- Acceleration of the C5 is slightly further but it’s almost negligible, they are almost the same speed the entire way to the target even at someone 40 miles away.
This is why I didn’t want them to change the 120c from what it was. Before, you had a missile that was not OP and could be used alongside a 120b due to them being situational-based. Now, it’s just better.

at this point i feel like they will add aim120d , meteor , r37m ,pl15 , mica ng before adding stuff like mica ir , R74m , aim9x , irist ,asraam to air.
Why did they nerf 9X? Its supposed to have 60Gs but now after the update it has 50Gs. Idk where the hell they got that from but i have never seen any doc stating 50G

it suppose to have slightly faster speed than 9Ms but currently its being limit to 780m/s for some reason
it should be 820m/s(base on datamine info)
“ground launch” doesnt matter, its going to hit max speed regardless

You know that ground launches have an impact on missiles right? Especially ones that were not designed for it.
It wont reach as far as it would when launched for a jet.
Considering the booster is very similar to the 9M, it will only hit at longer ranges when the target is coming directly at the launcher. It does hit decently well at range, but only against slow targets.

Even on a subsonic plane that kind of missile should only be available in top tier.
Just because Gaijin made terrible decisions like that before (AIM-9Ls at 10.3, R-73 at 11.0) doesn’t mean they should do it again with the next gen of missiles.
they already denied python 4 for air , i dont think there is a chance for python 5/irist /9x

Personally, gajin might ready AIM-9X (Block 1), AIM-132 (Block 1), AIM-2000 (analog), AAM-5 and R-74M in late 4th quarter this year
You wait AIM-9X-2 (Block 2), AIM-132 (Block 6), MICA IR, PL-10/PL-10E, A-Darter and Python 5 for fighter aircraft in december 2026 or Q2 2027
But I suppose gajin expand max BR (Air AB, RB & SB) to 14.7 for aircraft top tier in august before introduced the early next gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile for fighter aircraft

i feel like gaijin already tested these missiles with their internal dev team and probably realized that the game wont be fun with those missiles. mica ir would automatically make everything else doa.
