Its nice to have the mechanic with the weather dependent spawnpoint in general. In general its much needed in ground, but not really helpful at all in air battles. I wouldnt mind having the option in air battles, but if it changes regularly its just frustrating the new feature.
Weird to have it in ARB of all things. Not too many weather phenomena that can change the course of matches besides annoying thick cloud coverage where the game becomes an RNG Peek-a-boo.
Should’ve been implemented as a mechanic only for ground, unless this is a teaser for things to come…
mfw I bait an A6M zero to the eye of a tornado.
Its just annoying if you have to remind yourself to check it everytime, just to make sure you dont get disadvantaged.
They need to add a toggle to disable bad weather airfield spawn. I know I can change it manually, but I should be able to completely opt out of it.
yes, there are a few ways to make this work, like saving it, make it only ground rb exclusive or put it in settings…
Its an unneded, badly implemented and pointless adition to the game.
Its also utterly inconsistent.
I have had maps in heavy rain storms which had “cloudy” as their tag while getting “light clouds, evening” base setting labled as “storm”
Just remove it again and be done with it.
its only needed for ground rb, because the enemy spaa can see you but you cant see them…
at 1 BR out of 13… get real mate.
It is not needed and makes the game only worse.
There is ZERO difference for SPAA between the jet diving the moment it spawns or it taking off from an airfield.
On most maps the airfield spawn is actually faster to the battlefield than the air spawn as mostz airfields are 10km while the spawn is 22-25km
in which way does this change does this make the cas situation worse when you implement it properly? And its defently helpful at br 11+
Because CAS is at the battlefield faster with this change… it has been a closely guarded secret for non GBU slinger to spawn on the airfield for cas as you get there in less than half the time…
might be true, and I said it from the cas perspective…
havent played ground since the update so I have no big opinion on ground, this was mainly focused on air which was stated…
well its a a game with many modes
and you said ground
see above
my point is for all modes… because in ground it might actually make the CVAS issue more prevelant by forcing bad players to learn a better and arguabley just as easy way to do CAS and in air it is just an intrusive bothersome mechanic that adds no real gameplay value and makes playing bombers even more sad
I only made my original post about air, and didnt touch the ground mode with actual reasonings why it should be removed. I didnt want to touch this topic for ground bc I didnt have the knowledge to touch it. I only used this arguement bc it was probably the reason why it got added.
I mean weird is way too polite.
From my pov gaijin’s intern adding this function to prop BRs needs to play the game.
I played a match on the Stalingrad map a few hours ago:
Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On
My team had 4 airspawn bombers (2 x B7A2, 1 x H8K, 1 x Thai SB2C) and all received an airfield spawn… Whilst on the enemy team 2 Pe-2, one BTD and one P-61 were granted with an airspawn. Their B-25 was also forced to get an airfield spawn.
Thank to missing bombers at altitude the airspawn P-61 scored 6 (!!!) fighter kills by murdering my rookie team and my last team mate scored multiple hits on a La-5 without getting a kill.
Basically the whole match was doomed - you lose by tickets if you don’t kill the 3 non-respawning bases and the enforced airfield spawn made this impossible. And ofc - i had also a poor match as i rammed a P-63 and killed my prop very late game 😎
yep its annoing at best for air battles. I more or less created the discussion after not getting my airspawn after setting it before to airspawn in bad weather.
