on Alaska while stationary, wheels on the ground etc and deploying chaff i was killed by a CLAWS. It was at the far heli spawn that gives a view of the map by just flying up a few metres and i had gone up once but since come down again. a CLAWS fired a missile and from firing to hitting me i was on the ground the entire time deploying chaff. what am i meant to do in this situation?
Stay away from aim9x range??
Aim9x ingame its an IR missile with strong IRCCM, chaffs do nothing thats for radar missiles, neither do flares cause irccm.
The only way to counter it its having a broken heli with LDIRCM. Or just fly the opposite direction so the aim9x loose its speed and fall into the ground.
Its like when someone shoots a spike on you, just fly further until the missile gives up.

And on a lot of maps, helis can kill vehicles from spawn. Especially if you are rocket tossing from helipad.
Pantsirs and BUKs can do the same on Alaska it’s a terrible spawn for helis.

… how does one do that.
You can target a coordinate on the map, then right click and your heli will align with that coordinate in a way to allow you to hit that coordinate. With modern AA being so large, you can bombard from very far away .
