New profile Player Card

A new player profile card is a great idea, it’s just that the current one feels incredibly unfinished, and it’s lacking in both basic and advanced stats.

sure, but in typical Gaijin fashion its one step forwards two steps back.
Better to just leave it as is than break it and spend the next 12 months denying its a problem.

Looks horrible. The old statcard had way less empty space, was easy to navigate, and fit in with the rest of the UI. This looks like it came out of a mobile game.

I’d be ok with it being reverted back to the old version or having an option to toggle between the legacy UI and this new UI until it becomes more refined and doesn’t look so bland and lame.

First they get rid of the old and cool vehicle photo-like cards for a very boring and simple one who lacks style and now they give us this ugly thing, WHY GAIJIN, WHY YOU DO THIS?

Fixed it for you

This “update” is a total disgrace. It breaks motivation, kills immersion and is absolutely pointless. I strongly suspect that those responsible for this unnecessary change do not play War Thunder and/or have no understanding of the mentality and desires of the player base of vehicular combat games, about what they want and need to see in the game and what alienates them.
I do not understand - for 2-3 years now, almost every update inevitably contains something disappointing. Are the original creators @ designers from Gaijin being replaced by personnel of dubious professionalism?

They are catering to the younger COD crowd…

Smaller Ground maps with areas blocked off to force it into lanes to emphasise quick fighting.

Shorter ARB matches (was 45 or so minutes) now pushed to 25 to force planes to just take off, fly straight, fight, repeat.

They want to turn WT into a fast paced quick turn around action shooter game with vehicles.

Even GRB I see matches (even as low as 4.0) where teams ignore caps and push straight to spawn to try to spawn camp. It is an absolute mess

Ew what is this mobile-ification of the UI

Absolute waste of development money and time, is what this farce was. Literally as bad an addition as the strike drones.

I agree, but the nature of our game is completely different from COD. Gaijin keeps trying to simplify the battles, such as shrinking the map. We need to make them realize that this is wrong.

… also, if they do not revert to the old version of player cards, I’ll leave the game for good. I play WT for 8-9 years now, and I never posted on forums or complained about anything - not even they dumbed down many maps, trying to force players into head to head stupid confrontations, with no room for tactics and finesse.
But, this is too much!
It truly looks like Gaijin fell under the influence of Sweet Baby Ink or some other activists that promote mediocrity and superficiality, and hate skill development, rational content and History flavors in video games.

Guys chill, come on.

No it is not. Do not try to hate everything when it isn’t even bad. This update is nice. New vehicles, updated graphics, new mechanics and many more. The only bad thing they did is this player card which is clearly unfinished. Stop hating everything.

Like in every other game? They are trying to develop something new to keep us playing. Not everytime it works but we are here to tell what is wrong and believe they will fix it. Every update contained a lot of things and not everything can be always right.

Yes, it is - as you see, you represent a clear minority, at least on this topic.

If this is the only reason then leave. I and most of the people here believe that they will fix this. There are loads of bugs aswell so there is no reason to be so critic the first day of the update.

This can be right. They are trying to make the matches quick, but they are also preventing players to camp on one spot that is unbeatable.

Why do I represent a minority? I also said that this thing is horrible, but it doesn’t mean that the whole update is bad. Come on.

True. It is one of the better ones just because of the graphical improvements and all that stuff.

A new stat card is needed, as well as new UI overall, imo. It’s starting to feel dated and clunky. However, the stat card looks unfinished due to the missing info and bad use of space.

People just think change=bad too much.

Exactly. I also said this is bad, but it is unfinished. There is a lot to add and I hope devs know this aswell. But coming here the first time and saying that the whole update is bad just because playercard is a wild take.

Only COD-crowd type players which were already mentioned in the comments might need something new every week to satisfy their ever diminishing attention span and incapacity to enjoy an experience for more than 2 hours in a row. War Thunder already has huge enough content to keep players engaged in game for years and years to come. This permanent anxiety of game studios about not loosing players, that leads them to to try to forcibly, continuously produce something no matter how shallow or uninspired, undermines the players’ game experiences and the studios themselves. It’s almost a rule already. And very few studious seem to want to learn form history and the mistakes of the others.

Change done only for the sake of change is always useless, and quite often, bad. “New” and “improvement” are not synonyms.

First of all I have never played COD. I don’t know how it is there. Second of all if you are a type of player like me that has 2-3 fully researched nations that I like playing then you really appreciate when gaijin adds a new tank to research and play with.

After I don’t know how many updates I have never seen something done forcibly or uninspired. Maybe it doesn’t seem like it, but they are trying to listen to us. Fix what is broken, add what we want to be added. If you think that this game and community is like “COD” then you are in the wrong place.

After all it is okay to not like the update. It is your oppinion. But stop forcing your oppinion to other and hate everything you can when all players appreciated the whole update (besides the playercard and some bugs) that can be still fixed. Gaijin fixes something almost everyday to make our experience as best as possible. Stop being so critic, aggressive and stop saying bullcrap because you don’t like something. Try to say it in a different way than “this whole update is horrible, i’m going to uninstall this game and leave”.
