New Mechanic: Ammo Boxes

What is unrealistic about carrying ammo boxes on/in the vehicle?
Stop baiting and think critically.

TDs and SPAA are already changed in BR, there’s nothing to change.

@kitchkitch26
Squad is a bad example as it’s a Battlefield 2 inspired game and not one meant for realism.

lmao

Playing devils advocate, you would likely be resupplied by a seperate truck or maybe even resupplied by air via a parachuted pallet or by helo carrying the ammo and the vehciles themselves wouldnt necessarily “tow” the extra ammo. The size of the ammo crates are also tiny compared to the missiles themselves, let alone the volume of ammo.

What would perhaps be a more realistic implementaion, would be an ammo cache within each spawn point that all vehicles could rearm at or for the supplies to be air dropped in with that animation (like a care package from CoD)

Think it would have overall been better to just add a refill zone at spawn area for both repairs and ammo supply, I recently had to experience the miserably situation of having to drive to a capture zone with a damage engine at 7 km/h or so.

Also back when we had the D point, I’m pretty sure what was a whole supply stash if I recall, would have been cool if we could call in an airdrop the same way as artillery instead of a box spawning out of nowhere

Also would have been nice if others could use it, maybe have MBTs and such be able to get 10% of their total ammo back, but at least give some opportunity from teamwork instead of a feature that is completely selfish, and open the door to more support and utility options in game.

No teamplay opportunities whatsoever.

Gaijin, please stop being so lazy.

Armored vehicles with soldier capacity should’ve had extra ammo if there weren’t going to be crew there.

I think they would rather put more food and supplies back there as opposed to ammo they would fire once or twice at most

I know it’s boring for most but I would love to fly the delivery copter

Light tanks are the most powerful tank class ingame. They already have artillery and scouting. They don’t need another buff.

Does moving the ammo box replenish the ammo points?

don’t underestimate its ranged capability, its still great against pretty much anything that isn’t a Russian MBT or heavy at long range I remember I got a nuke sniping 1-1.5km on the mistake of the map with is sideways domination Ardennes

Not even asking for crew, just ammo. Every vehicle should have this feature. Especially when single point maps are a thing. Keeping it as is; one step forward, two steps backwards.

How do SPAA encourage teamwork at all? Most SPAA can’t really do AT duties, so how are they supposed to help cap a point that is contested?

Yes, but that goes for a small minority of vehicles. Like the Warrior, Bradley, BMP, etc. Most are not IFVs

I think having helis used in more of a support/logistical role would make the game a lot more interesting . . . ferrying in fresh crew members to replace injured ones, more ammo . . . fuel(if they were to ever model that in as it is a key point of ground warfare) so many options . . . . heck even dropping some of those smaller ground vehicles that were designed to be airdropped/lifted would be cool . .

Would love that too, but maps are too small.

Why not add an engineering vehicle to carry ammo to replenish teammates, you can build fortifications, you can save 5-10 seconds to help teammates repair them, and then open an additional tech line to add additional combat units like helicopters

Maybe in the future in some updated version of WWM where we had actual campaign/open arena style combat lasting for a good while, even longer than EC . . . that could be something

Yeah, for GB EC, heli resupply would be epic
