We want SPAA nerfed not buffed lmao. No one asked to give them APDS. If you can’t wrap your head around more AA on the map = more things to shoot at CAS idk what to tell you man. SPAA shouldn’t be the best TDs in the bracket. Period. Either give them 1 APHE in their belt first and see how that pans out or remove APHE from them outright. Remove the APDS round from the belts of the Falcon and AMX-30 DCA too or give them a limited number of rounds similar to how the Gepard and friends already are. (Yes, I know the Gepard has its own special spot for APDS and that’s how many rounds it can actually carry irl. This is a video game, changes can be made at will.)
If u move the SPAAGs to a higher BR, they won’t be as good against CAS, meaning they are forced into an AT role to be able to not lose SL playing it. Moving up the 35mm SPAAG worsens the problem, not solves it
Says the guy with a light tank that can destroy MBTs (up to 224mm pen), or take out CAS with HE-VT ammo.
Falcon got bumped up to 8.3 because the apds belt was already there. I’m fine with removing the apds and dropping the BR to 7.7 or even 7.3. Would be a better spaa at that BR than at 8.3
Have you ever looked at what comprises some of these belts?
Falcon apds belt = SAP-I/APDS/SAP-I/HEI-T. Apds is 1 in 4. ONE-IN-FOUR.
Instead we should have CAS with bomb CCIP from the 70s face tanks from the 40s/50s
I’m a bit confused with you comment here. Although I don’t agree that having more SPAA on the field is at all bad, I don’t see how moving it up a BR helps? Insofar as its tank vs tank effectiveness, if anything, it probably helps because it pulls them into a BR with a higher % of squishier vehicles and out of the top end of the heavy tank BR’s.
I play a fair bit of SPAA and one thing is for certain, against an average pilot that understands proper use of his weapons and how to maneuver, 8.3 range SPAA stands little chance. The AC holds all the advantages, it’s really only a question of it being used properly, or not.
I will agree that a few of the 8.3 range SPAA do make it harder on CAS and takes away what has been an “I win” mechanic vs GV’s just by taking off. It is the first time the wheat is being separated from the chaff wrt CAS drivers. But I see that as better for the game, not worse.
You mean like the Harrier at 9.7 more than a full BR above the Gepards?
Seeing this post half a year later and people still missing my point about Gaijin just needing to nerf APHE is crazy.
I never asked for no BR increase on anything. I don’t think SPAA are OP against planes.
What I said was that their effectiveness against planes and ground vehicles at the same time is overlapping 2 vehicle classes. This causes people to play SPAA over light tanks, while still maintaining said SPAA capabilities.
Now, with the mobility of a plane you can easily dodge, but with any of the early helicopters you seriously struggle to find any openings, since these SPAA are effective for essentially your entire range and due to people spawning them against tanks, there are always multiple on the battlefield.
If a team decides to spawn 5 SPAA in low or high tier, you know they are going to get bonked. With Gepards and such this is not only a common occurence , but also a viable tactic to fight ground vehicles. That shouldn’t be.
These are manually guided… you have to maintain visual for the duration of missile flight. While it is possible to dodge and keep it on path…It is a pretty low % win game (you miss most the time). It is also very easy to just move behind a building…tree…smoke… etc. It is also notable that you have HE rounds at this br that you cannot see coming, as well as the fact that radar equipment has a big green “x” painted on the air targets. Heli at this br range is pretty ineffective despite the “guided missiles”
SPAA could use the nerf bat for a long time now. Combing the domination of the CQC maps and ultra cheap spawn cost 70/140sp it is a natural choice. Increase the cost of the AP belts. Even without those belts the things are still lethal at those br.
I use silver lions to balance things…
Ap belt ? → 10k SL.
FnF Heli missle → 5k a shot.
CAS 120km range cruise missile sent from orbit…20k.
… Easy to implement, generates extra bucks for the snail, and makes you do some math before you start blowing ppl away in your heli every match.
Hell no, issue isnt the ability to kill CAS, its the fact no one uses them for that and instead run around the battlefield sniping main battle tanks with 23mm guns.
In no world would a SPAAG go toe to toe with a main battle tank. If they would nerf the ability to kill tanks, the whole to much CAS would be mute as SPAAGs would be used for what they were intended for.
Also end of the day the best AA for CAS is the PZH 2000 and prox shells. It is far more lethal then even a Gepard
Actually not the worst idea.
SPAA with apds or api belts should cost the same to spawn as a light tank. With only he ammo it can be cheap again.
So you are either pure SPAA and cheap to spawn. Or you cosplay an IFV and cost the same to spawn as a light tank/IFV
Yup. Those stupid HE rounds are also effective against heavy tanks. It can one shot the t90M arguably as easily as the Leo2a7. I thought adding all these 155+ howitzers was a sad day for armor meta.
Either way, increasing BR would help the issue.
If the Gepards were at 9.0, costed 150sp to spawn, and increased in cost with other tanks, then that would pretty much solve the Gepard balance issues.
Yay you should be happy.
And would heavily reduce its capability to actually do its job as SPAA!
Nope.
Explain how you’re going to shoot down people who can CCIP bomb you from 3km out?
I am a top 5% ground player. I don’t have issues with positioning. Gepard isn’t going to beat the better CAS jets at 9.0+
All its really gonna face it wouldn’t before is Hunter F.58, F-117, and some Mirages, all of which only have one or two guided munitions.
No average or above player should have issues facing such threats.
