Somua SM is ABSURDLY unfair:
4.0 segs reload on a heavy tank with more armor than a Tiger II (H), good traverse, good max speed/acceleration for a heavy tank and good depression, ALL THAT at 7.7 with 273mm of solid pen looks INTENCIONAL.
should be 8.0/8.3 like the AMX M4 got uptiered to 7.0.

Brother, the somua has a grand total of 40mm of side armor.
frontally, it has more sloped armor, and that don’t excuses the 4.0secs reload
Hit the turret neck or use one of the many guns around that br that auto-pen the entire front.
It has 8 rounds at 4 sec. After that, you cant fire and it takes like 15 sec to load the next round.
many things can’t pen u frontally, that means that if u keep behind cover or near an ally, that 15secs are nothing
turret necks a volumetric hell hole now adays mate.
8 rounds at 4 seconds, however you can replenish the ready rack while not firing so can consistently keep a decent sustained fire rate up, same as most the french auto laoders.
or just odnt fire all 8 shots off in one sitting. how often does one need to fire eight times in one go

dude, i tested it with the armor panel and it can pen a T-64A/T-72A frontally.
also it can pen the T-10M with just a bit of issues
and maybe i should change the discussion title, but the Surbaisse is also stupidly broken:
120mm HE that can overpressure technically EVERYTHING is just too OP, and combined with good mobility for a heavy tank, it doesn’t have sense.
Okay now you’re talking about tanks you’ve never used, the M103 has the same HE, as well as far far better armour. the surbaisse if you just shoot through the front of hte turret itll nuke it cause the ammos at the back of the turret

Its true but not something that you can realistically do often enough for it to matter.
Even then I dont think the weisel can kill a 279 from the side can it? xD I mean there may be broken pixels but yeh…
Look generally I do think the somau SM could do with a BR review, it is seriously oppressive when used properly.
However Im not gonna sit here and act like its some godlike tank xD

I mean it can technically pen and kill a T72 if you get extremely lucky on a LFP shot, most the shots just soak into the armour and dont actually pen, as for the turret, every single MBT in this game has a breach weakpoint, so you aren’t penneng a T72A turret n killing it.
(caveat BTW buddy the T72A and T64A are some of the easiest 9.3s in teh game to kill due to the size of their weakpoints, you could do the same thing to them with a 7.7 centurion, or even better yet 7.0 T29 …
I don’t know where you’re shooting but I always found it easy to hit them in the turret. Or just disable them first and go for a two tap
This topic sounds like ‘French don’t need a new Leclerc because AMX-50-120 will overpressure the Leopard 2A7 and become the new 12.0BR French MBT, and Somua SM will be a good backup for it.’ :/

It’s funny because it’s the best french tank at 7.7, and you could argue that it’s better than the Char25T at 8.0. Yet it stays at 7.7 because $$$.
Believe me, ammunition depletes fast when using solid shot. 2-3 shots per target are standard, and that is for skilled players. Players that are actively in the battle, or sniping at long range, will rarely get a chance to refill the autoloader due to the delay which exists between firing and start of the refill procedure.
