R-24Rs are considerably better, and I’d rather have them than Aim-7Fs.
You are right about the rest, but BR decompression might change the relative BRs depending on how much is done.

You can just simply barrel roll to dodge aim7s in the head-on, its comically bad…
So does R60M, just that people shoot it a lot closer.
The R-60M singlehandedly disgusted me of this br range in air, such a bad missile…
Aim9l aint much better (it is better though), for some reason frogs get magic 2 at 12.0 on a supersonic.
the 9L is pretty flare resitant in a rear aspect shot
cant say that about the R-60M
R-60M is one of the most capable IR missiles at that BR. It’s literally one of the almost non-existent all-aspect IR missiles 11.7, and if u sling them while making boom and zoom techniques, everything that is unaware is a free kill
R-24Rs are faster than Sparrows, and are the only SARH missiles with IOG, making them very good noticing that (in others words, not mines cuz u has no issues locking targets at long distances) the radar loses the track very often, so u can re-lock the missiles anytime
*below 12.0
Yeah, i’m refering to that BR, obviously there’s a lot of planes with SARH + IOG in 12.0 from above
9l is much better, I like the fact that this missile has range, and yes its silly that the baguette has magic2´s at 12.0… its more or less a free win if like half of the team is this mirage and its no full uptier.
Wait until you try to fly the Mig-23 at 12.0 you will realise your own terrible deicison
R24R are nice but easily avoidable even at higher alt, all you need to do is simply go cold, drop 2 chaff, no need to put a notch just turn more than 90 degrees, the missile will get confused and lose track, but if you fly in a straight line you are cooked.
R60m are almost useless, but sometimes usefull in very close range front aspect shots, easily avoidable by pulling away or pre flaring even 1 flare.
+1
Hang on, your advice for defending against an R-24R is to give the Mig-23MLD an easy rear-aspect shot with an R-60M?
i was talking in context of a bvr, atleast 5+ km, no r60m is going to go at that range, however if theres a r24r launch within like 3km, all you can do is chaff like crazy and hope the missile doesnt track you, which is unlikely. R60M are pretty easy to flare with a little quirk that they sometime might reacquire you after going through the flares which is pretty rare
lol 2020/2021 is still rentfree in ppl´s heads…
and some planes need to cut their afterburner
If Im 1v1ing a Mig-23MLD in SB in my Phantom, and they fire a R-24R at 8km, im not turning cold, because they are faster than me and turn better than me. Doing so would give them an easy gunkill, let alone probably an easy R-60M kill. Id try to drag the missile and defeat in kinematically whilst dropping chaff, if I was low, Id exploit MP. If I was high, Id ideally have fired Skyslug at 10-12km and forced the Mig-23 onto the defensive before they could get the shot off.
An R-60M is no easier or harder to flare than anything else at that BR. I’ve had 9Ls be 1 flare defeated by a Mig-23MLD sat on full reheat in a 1-2km rear-aspect shots hundreds of times.
only like twice or thrice in my lifetime ive seen r60m ignore flares with afterburner on in my 650 games with mig23ml
