Nerf MiG-23ML/MLD

I’ve only played the BN and MLA variants and I usually only play 11.3 max but i found it pretty comical that the plane can go up to 1600km/hr while also having the ability to outturn lots of opponents by manually setting wing sweep to 0. Not sure what anyone at its rating but an f5 can do vs it.
I’m certainly not great with radar missiles so idk how much its bad radar/rwr/r24 balances this out but r24r seemed solid when I played mla a few times.

Oh, someone still doesn’t know how to work with statistics. Let’s see: MIG-23MLD - yes, it is possible, but ML - definitely not.
MLD, Vigen and F-5 need the 11.7. ML-no.

Let’s take another look at the current 11.7. Maybe someone needs edits here too.

The MLD can compete with the Mirage F1, the ML cannot. The logic is simple and straightforward.
Vigen should leave on 12.0.

They’re basically identical. the difference is, the average people using the ML aren’t going to be on the same skill level as a player who goes out of their way to get the foldered MLD

Ml/mla has much worse flight performance and much worse rwr than the mld

didn’t realise it was that extreme damn… MLD to 12.0

I have doubts about your competence.
The MLD has the best flight performance among all MiG-23 versions. In fact, unlike the ML/MLA, its flight characteristics were never nerfed. It also has an advanced RWR.

ML=MLA.
Then explain why the MLA statistics are so different from the MLD statistics. The MLA is not a premium aircraft, but it shows mediocre results, unlike the MLD. So if you need objective statistics on ML, then look at MLA.

RWR is important, damn it. Avionics plays a huge role in the simulation mode.

Ah yes, lets use player stats to compare a premium aircraft for one of the most popular nations (which also happens to be the highest available BR aircraft and therefore naturally the one bought the most) and compare it to TT aircraft.

Of course the Mig-23MLs have worse stats, most of them dont know the difference between flares and chaff and half the time, I see their only defence being sitting at 50m expecting my SARH missile I fired from alt to not hit them.

But that doesnt mean the aircraft is in anyway bad. Im sure if you compared Tornado WTD61 to even the Tornado ASSTA1 you’d see a massive difference in player stat performance.

Mig-23MLD barely has justification for being below 12.0 imo, But the fact the Mig-23ML is the same BR as something like the Sea Harrier FRS1, is just insane to me. Pretty much the onyl thing that stands a chance against the Mig-23ML at 11.3 is the British Phantoms, which basically no one plays.

As I said before: The MLA is not a premium aircraft, but it is a copy of the ML.
Moreover, the Mirage F1C-200 is a premium aircraft and at the same time fully correlates with statistics. This rule will work with any premium aircraft that has a clone in the techtree.

Oops. My browser decided not to translate my messages))

23mla is lighter

Quite a bit . In addition, this leads us to a definite conclusion: since the ML is heavier than the MLA, it means that it is definitely worse than the MLA, and therefore should not be higher than the MLA, which is worse than the Mirage F1C, and therefore these aircraft do not belong at 11.7.

We can revisit this discussion when the JA37D and Mirage F1 get moved to 12.0, and the JA37C to 11.7.

I’d consider the Viggen D equal to the Mig-23MLD.

Mig-23MLD has superior FM, better SARH missiles and IRST (which is very good for SB and i’ve heard R-24T + IRST hutning in SB is OP as hell). Viggen D has the better radar and the longer ranged (though not necessarily stronger) IR missiles. (BOL is not worth even mentioning at the moment its that badly nerfed)

British Phantoms and Mig-23ML/MLA/MLD to 11.7 and then the Mirage F1 can go to 12.0.

Though, there are several 12.0s that should also drop to 11.7 if the MLD is to remain at 11.7, such as the F-4Js.

But that BR range is a total mess.

FRS1 same BR as the Mig-23MLD
Tornado IDS with guided weapons at a higher BR. (though F-111C is 11.3?)
F-4J(UK) 0.7 higher BR than the FGR2/FG1

etc etc etc. What we need is a 12.3 and 13.3 bracket and for them to actually spread what is at 11.3 and 11.7 over the correct BRs. Too many are under BRed or Over BRed in that area.

We’re starting to understand each other.

But the developers won’t. Right now, they fail to see the critical difference between the MLD and ML/MLA. Moving all three to 12.0 is unacceptable—the MLD can compete at 12.0, but the ML/MLA simply can’t. The first step is to force the devs to separate these aircraft in Simulator Battles.

Here’s my take on the current situation:

  • MLD, Viggen D, Mirage F1 → 12.0 (I think the F-4S has been waiting for them)
  • ML/MLA, Viggen C, F-5 → 11.7

Yeah, ML/MLA has a half decent argument to not be 12.0 and thats SPO-10. That being said, Aircraft like the F-104S ASA exists at 12.0 (in RB, its 11.7 in SB)… So…?

But MLD… is walking a very very thin line needing to be 12.0.

It would only take a few 12.0s getitng buffed and moved up, like the F3 for it to be there. MLD is definetly the equal to at least half of the 12.0s at the moment. (I slap them in the F3, though whether that is just them being bad vs a good SARH slinger or whether the F3 is straight better is tricky to tell)

it is not that it wasnt nerfed it is that it uses leading edge exstensions on the wing and a different geometry on the leading edge to improve flight performance

my guess is that gaijin has flight performance data on the MLD and modeled all the other Mig-23’s after it
which is obviously wrong

it’s the exact opposite, they only have data on the ml/m, there is NO em diagrams for the mld. the thing is after they nerfed it to historic standards, the flight performance was so bad that after a week they made it overperform again by 20%. mig 23 ml was a horrific design

here’s ml, it’s overperforming by around .5 - 1 gs at most speeds

like i said above

the mig-23 MLD has different flight performance to the ML/MLA
the question is how much

Pretty much, in my opinion. However, it is not enough for a pitched battle with an F/A-18 or MiG-21 Bison at 12.3.
In any case, on BR 12.0, his main task will be to fly fast and not get involved in dogfight.

Which in fairness. is what 90% of the 12.0s have to do against the 12.3s
