To be fair to this the F4S technically is a better grinder, as its better for its BR and all that crack but folks do shill stuff too much for what it actually is.
See the issue is with top tier, and hear me out, 16v16 ruins it when youve got planes with bloody 8 and 12 missiles cruising around xD
the Rafale is quite a popular plane though the EF2000 out numbers it in my experience 5 to 1
Just to put it out there i believe all these missiles are stupidely OP and genuinely we need to go back a few steps as these BRs and planes are beyond tedious to even play never mind spade
Would have to delete any and all aircraft in the past 3 years and return us to pre f14/mig23mld for any form of balance but aircraft like the tornado harrier and typhoon are why I play WT.
My opinion on the EFT with AMRAAM from the perspective of the Typhoon.
You can put a tremendous amount of energy behind your shot and almost always fire from a strong position up high, but the radar is incredibly poor and frustrating as hell to use meaning it’s often hard to get good lock at longer ranged shots or support the shot well. Also, in SB, I’ve had times where something is pinging my RWR and I can’t shoot back because my radar won’t even find the target, even a few times where I even had visual with the thing locking me so I knew my radar was looking in the right place.
I’d also kill for any form of HOBS missile
Tldr, typhoon is quite badly handicapped at the moment. Fear the day we get our placeholder radar replaced
it would honestly be better if it was just using blue vixen with how it currently handles. Ive put off spading the typhoon because of how poor it works
Agreed its a decent missile and top tier is comically compressed seeing as you have a harrier 1 in the same match as a rafale.
i wouldn’t call it extremely high powered outside of very special situations though, only when someone is able to climb high without eating one themselves.
I like flying on the deck underneath and using its good motors to fire it in a vertical toss like I’m a mobile SAM. they don’t see it coming and MAWs are often blind to it as well
as long as there is multipath, long to mid range performance is significantly diminished.
its performance at longer ranges also hinges on fact that the target simply does not care when is RWR goes nuts, screaming bloody murder and doesnt defend whatsoever.
mid range still leaves target with enough time to defend, of course depending on launch conditions and how quickly the target reacts.
its not as black and white as you make it out to be.
Yeah, this is the major issue and why I think AIM120 were the best but aren’t as much any more. People have learnt what to do and aircraft have gotten too the point where they can defend easily. Long ranged AMRAAM shots are often a waste of an AMRAAM
if i feel particulary spammy i take EFT with 6x amraams, zoom climb as high as i can and just let them rip, trying to guide them as long as i can. I get like 2 kills this way, 3 if im lucky, so were talking what, 33% hit rate?
as you say anyway, people learned how to defend, and that doesnt include the maps like mysterious valley where people can just bypass any sort of BVR easily.
