ridicously is stretching it compared to other ARH, its weaker than most in the 20km hdn situation, which in my experience most fights happen sub 25km.
and dodging bvr shots is really easy, although im not a very good top tier player so im not the best one to talk about this
It’s their main scapegoat. If they really cared about queue times, they can manually turn it down. They did that with naval, where they lowered the queue times. Everyone knows by this point that they say +/-1 BR is just to keep sweats who purposely abuse the BR system, to stay.
they did this by filling up lobbys with bots iirc
Not sure what ODLers are, but whoever they are, I hope they’d be gone. The only bad thing would be is the amount of smurfing that would happen and that the game will actively punish you for one good match, just like CoD does.

How so?
all missiles in the 7km and above head on situation are incredibly difficult dodge.
the sweat spot is between 4km and 8km in my experience for all of these missiles
while the R77 and MICA can do 2km and up to 8km (sometime sub 2km but that is dependant on launch position and speed)
Hardly? the AIM120 still pulls 35Gs and has a top speed of mach 4? its a great missile overall.

As it stands right now you get punished in most matches regardless.
Context is highly important.
If you are talking about a 40km BVR fight. Yes AMRAAM is the best. If you are talking about sub 15km. Then AMRAAM is below average in performance. Yeah, perfectly usable still, but holds no meaningful advantage over anything else, whilst others like mica pull harder and are harder to chaff. R-77-1 also pulls harder than AMRAAM and has a faster time to target.
Only missiles that are actually bad are R-Darter and Derby

dont get me wrong, im talking about extremely niche scenarios here. of course id rather use my amraams at BVR, but due to chaotic and unpredictable nature of Air RB, stuff just happens.

True enough, I have a feeling ODLers will become more prominent if SBMM is implemented, but it may honestly be the best thing for the game. Especially with the abundance of seal clubbing at specific BRs. Especially since Gaijin refuses to compress BRs because of the influencers. There’s a reason why majority of the War Thunder influencers play at specific BRs, and it’s not because they have fun.

R-Darters and Derbies are great at sub-6km away. I usually use them to flank and use them at close range.
Yeah, but at which point they are more like IR missiles than ARH.

I’ve died to more EF2000’s with Aim120s than rafales.
Then why say the 120B is worse than a MICA or R77, when overall the AIM120B is better for both ARB and Sim battles

I dont play sim (yet), so I wont talk about how AMRAAMs perform there.
ive died to MICAs like 1/3 of all of my deaths on EFT. Which is significant since the rest of the deaths is shared between all other missiles and guns. Thus i respect the Rafaele and MICAs.
Again, agree to disagree. I would not say its overall better. Its better at range, and mid at best everywhere else. Other ARHs have their strengths too.

Ancedotal evidence gets us nowhere unfortunately. I dont die to MICAs or R77s much if at all at top tier due to position out of their MAR
I don’t usually watch them, I just get their shorts recommended, so I watch and scoff as I see them saying “skill issue” as they are in a full downtier using the meta tanks. “This noob can’t pen me” yeah, I wonder why a level 15, using a stock 4.3 Sherman, with a combined crew points of 21 cannot pen your 5.7 Tiger that you aced and bushed up.
I think the only thing worse is how they hype the worst premiums, only because Gaijin has a weird thing saying you are not allowed to say something is bad. Hell, I’m still seeing some shorts talking about how the F4S is still the strongest premium in game. Best Phantom, sure, but best premium? I may not like the “slightly faster F-5” (F-20), but I would rather have that over the F4S. But then again, they’re Gaijin plants, so I’m not surprised they are advertising a bad premium just so then people will spend more money.
But yeah, Darters can be good, I usually use them at a max of 9km, but only if I’m going beyond Mach 1. I don’t exactly want my R-77-1 teammates stealing my kills.
