su27sm is much better than f16c
They’re still capable, but you are gonna struggle against eurofighters, rafales, strike eagles and even Su-30s
Different playstyles, the F-16C can use its AIM-120s to keep people further away but in WVR or close combat the Su-27SM wins
The radar and missile though, unless u give up the R77s for R27ERs. It’s slightly better due to missile load and not the performance.
double the missile count makes it an easy choice for me, r77s are plenty good enough imo.
Yeah, but same with my J11B, just got to go around those. Can still do quite well, just struggles. I even struggled to kinetically defeat FK90s at down tiers but it’s just about fine to do BVR and WVR since it isn’t a boat like F15E.
I totally don’t get why they need C5s though.
R77s to me just sucks any where outside 10km. Even in head on situations the enemy has around 3 seconds to turn around. I have had an F16 out speed it from 5km.
I said it is the missile count and partly R73 that makes it so good.

Yeah nah. Theyre not that strong the esy they are implementing them, if they get the increased range sure.
Still gonna go up cause they will make other stuff that originally have kinetic advantages obsolete and the stuff already worse will be even worse, However compression is bad enough now they might as well get it.
The current implementation is not correct/final. They are likely to be buffed, hard. Either way, F-16C doesn’t deserve upgrades without going up in BR. It is not underperforming.
I dont think so fox 3s being nerfed for balance is pretty much the standard, amraam’s main weakness is the maneuverability as its the least agile fox 3 out of all of em excluding the phoenixes. 120c5 seems to fix that which is why im happy with it as is for now
Even if nothing changes about 120C from now to patch, 14.0 for F-16C if it received them.

I havent done a deep dive into how they’ve been modeled yet, but slightly better range. Thats about it.
They should have been better in WVR than the Aim-120A, but that hasnt been modeled and the seeker is identical so just as easy to notch.
I dont think there is any downside to using Aim-120C5s over Aim-120Bs anymore, but you’ll probably not notice any difference 99% of the time.

C5 guides for longer and has a longer burn time but looks like it may have a lot less thrust initially. So maybe worse time to target at close range. But not certain on that. But yeah, in essence. They’ll be harder to defeat kinematically at longer ranges and thats about it

longer range as far as i know, on f15e and eurofighters it will make the aim120 a bigger threat when used properly. on f/18s its not going to change much.
