Nerf AIM-120A/B

It’s not. The SM3 has an extra pair of pylons on the wings, base SM does not.

Only the Su-35 can use the dual racks because it’s the only airframe that it fits

They are not comparable at all.

Looks like AMBER and quad racks are the only ones that can come to a whole family of aircraft

#nerfAIM120

Underperforming against that one Mica carrier, I’ll give you that, underperforming compared to a poorly modelled FM like the Su-30, nah not really.

Unless by “underperforming” you are also taking into account the avionics.

Japan just waiting for their own 14.0

no underperforming as in the SU30 has a higher winrate and more kills per death than any aim120 plane except the british typhoon while also being the most played 14.0

Russian bias isnt russian biasing, its so over guys

By the time you get to third party most of the enemies are either dead or most of your team is dead so there is no one to third party.

I get it if it’s su27. SPO15Lm sucks. Like it’s the one thing worse than N001.

yes and no. Because actually everything is nerfed to be on par with the AMRAAM.

Would be nice to unnerf those AND the AMRAAM

AMRAAM is the least nerfed and stuff like AAM4 and PL12 are in fact AIM 120C (pre C5) equivalents, and that wouldn’t be fair and the issue is these are the earliest ones that some countries have. R771 should be more like AMRAAMc5-7 cause R77-1 is so much better IRL same with R77 cause of their drag being butchered. If u un-nerf all of them it wouldn’t be fair either.

Not to say there is a solution but that it’s not that they aren’t better IRL.

Unnerf them and add the C-5

NGL the R-77 is about same irl as in game. Sure it has more drag, but it actually lofts in game unlike irl. If anything making it irl accurate and removing lofting would probably hurt it more then reducing its drag would help it.

Sure, get ready for other nations to smoke the USA every single time though when they get their own respective buffs.

Lofting does not help anywhere near enough to matter here. The R-77 has massive drag that it doesn’t have irl. Repeat: MASSIVE drag.

Lofting honestly helps more then drag for sustaining energy at really long range shots. The drag is too large, yes, but it’s not that insanely much more. It would help a bit for mid range shots, fair, i suppose that’s more important for most people anyways, but it’s not gonna magically make the R-77 outrange the AMRAAM, it’s max range would actually be a bit worse honestly.

Don’t think so, especially when target does anything but fly straight.

If you look on statshark of any missile launch you can see that they end up traveling quite slowly by the farthest ranges they’re getting kills at (the aim-120 is often subsonic for the longest range kills it gets in game). Decreased supersonic/transonic drag will not help it at subsonic speeds. And lofting helps a lot for having energy to hit manuevering targets, as it saves some potential energy for keeping velocity up, as opposed to not lofting, where all you have is your kinetic energy reserve which turning bleeds through fairly fast regardless of the missile.

Again, it would buff the R-77 at mid ranges, and would push out the R-77-1 (which does have lofting) to being a truly long range option. But it won’t make the R-77 suddenly outrange an AMRAAM.
