Need some clarification on the criteria of "Fighter rescuer" or "Bomber Rescuer"

So today one of my challenges is to get “Fighter Rescuer” or “Bomber Rescuer” and I am having the hardest time achieving this. A few times today I picked someone off who was engaging a friendly and I still havent gotten it. I blew a guy away who was firing a missile at a friendly and didn’t get it.

Another instance I killed a guy going after a friendly A-10 and didn’t get it. So I am a little lost on what it takes to get this achievement. I know I’ve gotten it before but today just must not be my day

It’s basically impossible with missiles unless there’s an interaction I’m unaware of as…

You must kill an enemy who has critically damaged a friendly within some time span.

  • Fighter Rescuer — defended a friendly fighter. (Destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly fighter);
  • Bomber Rescuer — defended a friendly bomber. (Destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly bomber);
  • Ground Force Rescuer — defended friendly ground/water troops. (In an aircraft, destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly ground unit);
  • Water Troops Rescuer — defended friendly water troops. (In an aircraft, destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly naval vessel);
  • Tank Rescuer — defended friendly ground unit. (Destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly ground unit);
  • Ship Rescuer — defended friendly water troops. (Destroy an enemy player that recently dealt critical damage to a friendly naval vessel).

Also since it says “critical damage”, I have a feeling killing a plane that severed a friendly but didnt crit (450x0.8+450x0.2 rather than 150 score) might also not work.

As the other guy said, that player has to have recently damaged a teammate. Practically, most times you get a “rescuer” award, it’s for killing an enemy who recently destroyed a teammate. So go for the enemies in the kill feed.
