you know that IRL tanks ain’t aiming that accurate like in game and have lot of automatization included?
and i don’t mind if in tank battles you can also put some tasks on crew members cause it’s more realistic

Ehh I like it. But then again I only pop in naval once every 2 weeks and I play arcade because I wanna turn off my brain
Maybe try realistic mode?
A large appeal of sims (including simcades) is getting to experience operation of a vehicle. In Silent Hunter games, you get to operate deck guns as the uboat’s captain. You get to operate AA guns as the uboat’s captain. You get to hand-calculate your torpedo launch. You get to operate the SONAR/RADAR dials and listen in yourself. You have officers and enlisted to deal with all of that, yet in a more serious sim that warthunder - you get to do it all. Simplifying it to just barking orders removes that appeal.
But we ain’t in silent hunter, and i don’t want to do it all.
What’s the point of playing Warthunder over a strategy game then?
Is that an open thread? I don’t see it when I search for it. If it is live, please post a link and not just a screenshot, thanks.
LOOK, FRANCIS. I SCORED ONE A DEM AMMO RACKS HAHAHAHA I’M SO LUCKY
KEEP CLICKIN’ BETTY, WE GOTS A MORTGAGE TO PAY OFF
It is a photo because it is pending and most likely won’t get approval.
Sorry.
Ahhhh, I see. I didn’t know that new threads needed approval in that section. Cheers.
Good luck lol. My suggestion has been pending for a month now.
They do for the suggestion thread.
It should be suggested to at least make it an option/setting…
I 100% agree. I posted my idea for 3 options in other places too:
Then at least players can do what they prefer, even if the new aiming is not reverted. Having the option is the bare minimum that should be done imo.
Thought you were quitting??
It’s not possible with the new compartment changes. They just rushed the patch out without tuning the AI.
I don’t want to play to find out, but my guess is at the various BR like 3.3-5.7 people are simply landing more volleys, not landing consistent one-shots. The AI firing I think causes the shots to spread more randomly rather than center focus a compartment, so the compartments die from consistent targeting without a player evading. The one-shots are coming from uptiers where they’re getting mopped up by a 1.0 BR shell size.
If you give back old Arcade aiming, you can black a compartment on first or second volley and essentially end the ship that way. AI aiming turns the game into a points casino, and the uptier/downtier gives the illusion of variability in the gameplay.
Plenty of quitters here.
Do you see me in game?
Got anything better to do/say?
Edit: I didn’t think so.
They’ll be back.
To begin with, I never seen anyone asking Gaijin to lower aiming time in arcade, they done that on their own for whatever reason. With old aiming time of ~10-15 sec, ships had resonable amount of time to avoid salvos. Everything was better before they started their ‘‘fixes’’.
Yeah that came by surprise. It makes sense to speed up engagements, and it was so short, there was nothing wrong with quickly changing targets. I actually miss the old delay system. Found myself thinking about that not too long ago. It’s a theme of deleting their own gameplay features. It’s so odd. You used to be punished for changing targets because of the delay, so you had to pick your target carefully and destroy them satisfactorily quickly. Or you had to learn to aim during their maneuvers. If people swap targets once someone starts turning, they don’t have to get good. They can just swap to the next motionless target. This probably happens even more often with AI aiming now.
@Kweedko If they revert the changes… Otherwise there is no game to come back to. It’s step up to RB or play Warthunder Go. There’s nothing to come back to.
True
Not true - aiming time wasn’t how long it took salvos to hit you, and that length of time is still unrelated to aiming time - you look for the tracers in the air and if they are coming like they are going to hit you you change direction hard - that is still the case!
That’s opinion - I have no issue with the new aiming system and in a couple of ways it is more realistic than the old one:
1/ real life gun directors aimed at the enemy ship
2/ real life gun directors were continuously updated, not just at fixed intervals
